I think we're trying to leap across a distance that we cannot handle and we need a little rock in the middle. So, here are some personal questions (and I want you to address these as personal questions): 1. How do you understand "masculinity" and "femininity"? 2. How did you come up with these concepts? If you're going to include personal observation, please provide short descriptions of situations where individuals you've observed exhibited the qualities you're listing and not the opposite qualities. As this can get rather lengthy, limit yourself to the qualities you consider most important. 4. What is an ideal human? 5. What is an ideal woman? What is an ideal man? 6. How did you come up with these ideal images? 7. Do you fit that description of an ideal person/man/woman? How and why? This thread is not meant for arguments. This thread is meant for comparison of experiences.
1. Penis and vagina 2. See above + no sexuality confusion 3. What the... no question three? 4. One that's alive and making money for his/her own ass. 5. A super model shaped chick with D boobs and Fabio 6. Various media tells me so. 7. No. I don't fit in the ideal thankfully which makes me so much more interesting. Spot the sarcasm?...
Oh christ. A seeming female/feminist (?) who wants to understand feminism Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! And masculineism (SP?!) ... Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! And the nature behind it. There. Most of your questions answered. If you have any agreements/disagreements, about the nature or specific qualities associated or whatnot, tell me. Or just PM me if you don't want.
Is it hard to answer because there is indeed no substance in the entire discussion about "feminization of man"? I thought so. Point made, threads finished.
whitewolf, it is too late to change. Feminization of men was a silent war and I was born when the war was lost. Anyways...I just hope women do not kill me or my male sons or any males in my future, just because. Thats why I want to escape this world, so that I can make my own world.
draqon: You are being delusional. This thread is not finsihed, as there is INDEED a lot to feminism. Your OP was especially interesting white
Yang and yin. Two halves of the human spirit. We each have some of both but not the same mix. Fortunately I didn't, so their basis in philosophy is more sound than if I had. The total set of characteristics of humans shifts around between the masculine and feminine in different cultures and different eras. But I suppose the irreducible minimum is: Femininity is about motherhood, an internal focus. Giving children unconditional love and forgiveness, protecting them, nurturing them, turning them into harmonious and contributing members of the family. Masculinity is about fatherhood, and external focus. Teaching children about responsibility, deferred gratification, situational ethics, risk analysis, the unfairness of the universe and the value of civilization, imparting skills that can be deployed outside the family, turning them into harmonious and contributing members of civilization. One who has the internal focus to be a loyal and enjoyable companion, colleague, or other partner in civilization, and the external focus to be a contributing member of civilization. A good mother, as defined earlier. But if you're talking about the ultimate personal level of the ideal wife, she has to be (and she indeed is Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!) honest, good sense of humor, plain-spoken, highly intelligent, love rock and roll, well educated, animal lover, adventurous eater, dismissive of religion, sexually normal. A good father. As for a personal friend, most of the same attributes as the ideal woman. I don't care about his sex, travel or eating habits and I can get along with guys who don't like pets, but I do want him to enjoy intellectual games such as chess and go. By spending 63 years getting to know people and figuring out which ones I thought were the most ideal. I try. I get closer as I get older and wiser.
