It's just like I said above, Stryder, women like that are a gem to guys that are into the same things. We all know that most women don't like stuff like that (some do, which are the focus, but most don't). When gamers or any guy in a particular 'guys' hobby sees girls in the same field, they automatically have something in common. Now, doesn't dating go a little bit better when two people have something in common? Why would the gamer women bitch about this? They should be flattered. I mean seriously, where else do the women think that the guys would go talk to girls???

Couldn't you say the same about TV? That it's just wasting time and keeps people from socializing face to face? Obviously that usually doesn't happen, it's the same with video games. It only seems they keep people from socializing because the people who play them a lot are the same people who have a hard time socializing anyway. Everyone else may play a game for an hour or two a day and do something sociable too, just like the majority of people who watch a couple hours of TV a day.

But the President of the United States probably watches a lot of t.v., and yet he doesn't have a problem socializing. He goes to parties constantly. Now, you don't hear about George W. playing video games.

When you do hear about him playing games, you really should hope it's not reached DEFCON 5.

lol yeah, there's plenty major things (besides sex) that we enjoy doing together. I actually prefer that she doesn't like video games because that's something I like to do for some "me time". But that is true about how most guys covet the "guys girl", that's part of the reason I'm with mine is because she's 1/2 and 1/2.

It proves that t.v. is not an inhibitor of socialization.

Really? That's all it takes? Awesome. In that case, I play video games maybe an hour or two a day, but I also go out and socialize with friends at least a few times a week. That proves video games are not an inhibitor of socialization.

Ah, but the President is a proven socializer. After all, he would have to be to become President. You, on the other hand, are not a proven socializer. In fact, I don't even know your real name? That's pretty anti-social - hiding your identity. Isn't it?

You missed the point, but that's not surprising.

    How about a celebrity?

So there you go, he's a proven socializer and likes to play video games. Case closed right?

How about this, how about let people do whatever the fuck they want as long as they don't hurt someone else?

Sure bash them or whatever. I think people who watch a lot of sports are fucking pathetic, but do I REALLY give a shit...nope.

What the fuck is the point of the thread? Ban video games? So what if they are bad for culture, culture is highly overrated. This great culture of ours is "consuming" the planet and fucking the other animals who live on the planet. So gamers are just doing "their" part really...

Guess what a least you have to exercise a brain cell or two as you interact with someone's artwork(games are art - a creative creation). They allow you to escape the often mundane boring ass pathetic safety policed world and go back to some of our roots of adventure seeking and imagination. Please, if you are having such a great time in "real life", that you figure you can critize someone else's idea of "play" post your great activities right here so we can all fornicate on our monitors the product of ultimate envy from the screwing of ugly or gorgeous bimbos, as if that is so much the more productive endevour nowdays.

In other words, to each his/her own.

Nacho Libre? The King of Movie Dorks? This is your socialite? Gee, I thought you were going to say - Clint Eastwood or Tom Cruise. Case not closed.

Anyway what is your point? Say I agree games are awful and they turn people into smelling bucktoothed fucking geeks whom can't even whack off properly?

Now what...point is what is the goal of this thread?

The point is to ask whether video games are bad for culture.

There's 6 other celebrities listed there, and those are just the few they could get a hold of.

But to go back to the point I was trying to make, lets say a scientific study is done on a single person and they conclude that this person plays video games and socializes with friends. You're saying this would prove video games have no affect on socialization?

nietzschefan, that was uncalled for... I know how to get myself off just fine, thank you very much.

Anyway, as you can see from the picture that was posted, video games have inspired their own kind of culture.

Sure, if people playing video games are also socializing like normal, maybe gamers aren't going to screw up our culture. Not much time to read Praust, however, when you're playing those games.

    "Culture"

What culture? The culture of working, earning money, providing for children and so on? Society. The games industry employs MILLIONS, not to mention a lot of jobs for voice actors, whom might otherwise be selling you shitty used cars.

Are actors part of culture? Are stories part of culture? Are pictures/renderings/concept art part of culture?

Or Culture - as in art, history, all that crotch grabing stuff that likes to fuck with our minds? Well games are the epitome of that.

Well, why don't you get off the computer and read Praust then? The same could be said of anyone who is driving a car, taking a shower, eating, sleeping, watching television, having sex, and so on... so I don't quite get your point here. Besides, books are just another form of escapism. Why is Praust so much better than Joust?
