Because i am sure i have never felt hatred, i may want to be rid of some
irritation, but one does not have to (hate) a fly ,insect, what ever to want
    to be rid of it.
    So what is hatred?

If you have never felt hatred this will be a rather abstract discussion for you. For me hate comes into the picture when something is violating me or someone I love. Important factors are the duration of the violation, the perp's resistance to being rebuffed, how physical the violation in and so on. Also being hated can often lead to hating back.

So two forms:1) some sort of aggression with boundary crossings can make me feel hate (which is a natural urge to force something back and away or if that is not possible to stop it from being able to continue hurting me). 2) a reaction to being defined in a certain very negative way.

(I have a sense that at some point in this discussion that certain people who have killed and committed atrocities have been strikingly without affect, including hatred.)

I think hate is out of control anger. An anger that has grown and intensified.
I hate sin, criminal activity, injuring/hurting the innocent. The rest of the possible hates are just annoyances.

If "sin" wasnt fun no-one would really bother doing it.

So you are out of control when it comes to sin, criminal activity, etc.

Hmm. It seems many people make claims about others who "hate", yet they don't even know what the term means?

Okay, many people make claims that we should all "love" each other ....so what's "love"? ...as opposed to "like"?

Or is this/these just terms that we've used for a gazillion years because everyone else uses those same terms? How many other terms do we use, yet don't know what the fuck they really mean?

Hate is something, someone, someplace, somewhatever you really dislike.

    My examples:
I hate when I can't fall asleep at night. (I am kind of an insomniac)

I hate when I lose things money, keys, and various important shit.

People think love and hate are opposites. They're not. Indifference is the opposite of love. Hate is as passionate as love, but with anger.

Hate is to shrink with disslike
Love is to grow with pleasure

In the beginning all had infinite love, now it is shrinking until everything becomes a line.

    Indifference the opposite of love?

Does that make it the opposite of hate also?

Animals dont appear to hate...at least not in the same way humans do.

    What does that tell you?

That they are not capable of such "advanced" emotions.

my dog appears to hate other dogs  and some ppl too.
Call me crazy but I think if you beat your dog he may show
    signs of hate towards you........

maybe you could give it a try and let us know if you still
    think animals don't hate.

    And you know this ...how?

And by the way, I think you're wrong. I've lived around animals all my life and they do, indeed, hate/strongly dislike some people, some animals, some situations, in much the same way as humans. They just can't verbalize it, that's all.

Even if it were true, which it isn't, I don't know what it's supposed to tell us, do you?

Appears yes...but maybe its just a very mechanical form of aggression.

Animals are very logical in their behaviour, from a an evolutionary point of view.

Not at all like irrational man...whose hatred tends to stem from the human ego, not any survival instinct.

You really just don't know much about animal behavior, do you? So why make such statements as if you do?

In essense, I think you're wrong on each of those statements.

C'mon, don't be prodding and jabbing at people like Sam does ...that ain't nice at all, and you know it.

Besides, never has Sandy made any such comments about hating Mexicans or Mexico ....she dislikes ILLEGAL immigrants, Mexican or otherwise. And so do I, by the way!

I know, I know, you think it was just funny, just humorous, .....but don't forget that there are some who might not think so.
