I don't have to "swiftboat" anyone. I've asked you to provide proof of your wild allegation, and as usual, all you can do is find partisan hacks or blatant opinion pieces to back your view up. You can't find facts. Indeed, the only factual bit of information you posted undercuts your own appreciation of events.

In case you're interested: "Scott Ritter was arrested in 2001 for allegedly communicating over the internet with an undercover police officer who was posing as a 16 year old girl." (Source: CNN).

However, that means less to me than the fact that Ritter regularly raises money for the Democrats and, positioning himself as an unbiased expert, writes opinionated books, stories and web posts obviously in support of their causes.

    He's a partisan, like you.

No conviction, charges dismissed, unlike some members of the Bush adminstration I could mention.

Now you're backsliding. You deny his sources, then say it doesn't matter anyway when reminded of a better one. So again, there's little point in talking to you. Your Kool-Aid brain will never allow you to think ill of anyone supporting your preordained ideology. Besides, I wrote earlier that the sexual charges about Ritter weren't as important to me as his obscene partisanship, something you can't address, because you know he is partisan...

Wrong-o oh spidergoat, to be court ordered into sex offender counseling, you have to eather be convicted or plea out to the charge, and old Scotty boy was convicted.

    Legal problems

In 2001, Ritter was arrested near Albany, NY. News reports state that Ritter had brushes with police on two occasions, both involving allegations of intent to meet underage girls after chatting on the Internet.[24] Per an agreement with Assistant District Attorney Cynthia Preiser, the charges were suspended for six months, and were dropped after no further allegations arose. All court records from this matter were sealed. The District Attorney fired Preiser for her handling of the matter.[25] According to WTEN-TV, Ritter underwent court-ordered sex offender counseling from an Albany psychologist.[26]

Allegedly ordered, that has not been established. Your case against him as a source is weak and vindictive. You know he's partisan, but nevertheless an expert in his field, so you don't want to acknowledge what he says. You would rather stoop to low personal attacks.

You admitted he is partisan! That means everything he says, whether he is an expert or not, is slanted to his party's viewpoint. Christ, you make our argument for us...

    Clinton siucked

Clinton made a statement that the Constitution was a "radical document" and that people that took advantage of their rights needed to be "reigned in". This is the man that swore on his oath to support the Constitution.

Willy is just another thug in the cess pool.

By the way, your re reference to Rush. Ask him if he thinks he deserved to pay $60,000 dollars just because he became addicted to some painkiller. Ask him if some shluck became just as addicted, but didn't have a few million in the bank, if 6 months in the kooler would be a fair equivalent.
    Thanx,

His Attorney? And if he didn't plea Guilty, or have been found guilty how could he have been ordered into counseling? and why was the prosecution in secret?

Reports: Scott Ritter arrested in sex sting

Ex-weapons inspector pressing impeachment has own legal trouble

Scott Ritter, the former weapons inspector who says President Bush should be impeached for his Iraq policy, was secretly arrested and prosecuted in New York 18 months ago after being caught in an Internet sex sting, say law enforcement sources in published reports.

The Schenectady Daily Gazette and New York Daily News report Ritter was arrested in June 2001 for allegedly having an online sexual discussion with someone he thought was an underage girl. According to the Daily News, it turns out that "girl" was really an undercover police investigator.

Ritter lives in the Albany suburb of Delmar, and was reportedly arrested by police in Colonie, N.Y.

The case was apparently kept so secret, the head local prosecutor did not even know it existed.

The Daily Gazette reports Albany District Attorney Paul Clyne fired veteran Assistant District Attorney Cynthia Preiser last week when he finally learned of the matter.

"I was shocked and angered to learn that the case had been disposed of by one of my assistant district attorneys without consulting me," Clyne told the paper. "Any arguably sensitive case should be brought to my attention."

Sources told the Gazette that Ritter's attorney and a town court judge agreed to adjourn the matter in contemplation of a dismissal.

That generally means the case is on hold for six months, and if the defendant doesn't get into trouble, the case is usually dismissed and the record sealed. The adjournment means neither an admission of guilt or innocence.

For his part, Ritter says he knows nothing of the arrest.

"Sorry, you must have the wrong person," said Ritter when contacted at his home by the Daily Gazette.

Ritter's legal name is William Scott Ritter, and the town attorney's office in Colonie reportedly confirmed that the arrest record for Ritter did exist, though it denied any further disclosure, saying it was exempt.

WTEN-TV, the ABC affiliate in Albany, is reporting that Ritter contacted the "teen-age girl" twice within a three-month period in 2001, and that he underwent court-ordered sex-offender counseling from a psychologist in New York's capital.

Sources tell the Albany Times-Union that Ritter actually had two run-ins with police. The first occurred in April 2001, as the former Marine reportedly drove to a Colonie business to meet what he thought was a 14-year-old girl. He was reportedly questioned by officers, and released without a charge.

Now we have two incidents, and you want to confuse the issue between the two incidents,

This talk of Ritter's pursuit of underage girls is an interesting combination of ad hominem and red herring fallacies. Apparently true, it has no bearing on his expertise, and really means nothing other than he has bad judgment. I've read nothing that contradicts what he has stated.

So you ignore the fact he's paid by Democrats? And publishes non-biased material in Democratic-leaning blogs and publications? I think both speak directly to his veracity as a legitimate source to cite on any issue.

For example, even if I were so inclined, politically speaking, I wouldn't cite Michelle Malkin or Anne Coulter or the like. All that does is add additional opinions to an already opinionated claim. We need facts, and so far, Spider has given us none --- other than the one story that disputes his own original claim...

    That's your argument all right.

Ritter is Democrat, therefore partisan, therefore whatever he says is not reliable because being partisan he will of course slant his expert judgments accordingly.

The possibility that he became a Democrat, or supported Democratic politicians, because of his expert judgments - that his politics are slanted by his expertise, rather than the other way around - is simply ignored.

This is a common take, from righties, and an interesting one. It has implications. Theives think others steal, liars see lying everywhere, etc.

The speech Ritter made to the Iraqi parlaiment in 2002, in defense of the US and its people despite the obvious disaster they were about to create, strikes me as not at all partisan, at least toward a political party. It was a better speech than anything our sitting President has ever delivered, and he wrote it himself. Opportunity missed, there.

im not sure if the word great is good in this context but he is doing what he needs to do. i have my share of criticism about mr bush, but most of the criticism i have encountered regarding him is disproportioned.
