In two years I've only spent $50 on my hobby. That's actually not much, considering how expensive juggling equipment is.
i dont really have a hobby. in my spare time i fix and build computers, so maybe 5l of petrol/diesel for a job.
This is my hobby. And I spent $96 in the last month or so, but only so much because I bought new equipment. Otherwise, just $6.

It's a Honeywell Pentax Spotmatic, a beautiful SLR camera that was made in the 60s, and it still works beautifully. I love it as much as I loved my Asahi Pentax SV (almost the same thing and just as old) before it broke. But I certainly ain't complaining about its price!
i have spent about £1000 on my hobby, i got to concerts the most i spent for a concert was £250 for 2 green day tickets, and then my bon jovi tickets cost me £190, but worth every penny

The bike was ~$1600 I've spent another $300+ in component upgrades and pads/safety equipment. The trail in that video is at my friend Kenny's (the other guy in the vid) house/lot. We've spent almost every weekend out there for the past year building that stuff. I'd say about over 200 hours have been spent out there, not to mention over $200 in screws. Luckily we get scrap lumber from a housing subdivision under construction.
More than that. We probably went three or four months of just building and not even getting on a bike. I'd say more like 95% of the time has been dedicated to building it. Maybe I should just move to Vancouver and go ride the North Shore trails at Whistler Mtn. bike park.
No guts, no glory. Yeah, I've seen some pretty nasty ones too. I saw one dude slip and fall about 10 feet off a 10" wide board he was riding on. That's why they wear full face helmets, shin/knee guards and armor vests. You neither have to be on a mountain, nor high in the air to crash. I was at a mountain bike park in Cleveland Ohio www.raysmtb.com and I went over a table top but I was cocked to the right a bit when I hit the landing ramp. My back tire hit the ramp but my front tire went straight down over the side, which resulted in me hitting (actually SMACKING) the floor with the top of my helmet, and slid for a foot on my head before I rolled over. There is a nice little white mark on the floor. I was loopy for about 20 seconds but after that I was fine.
That's great, on a walk thru the woods here this winter we came across something similar but quite a bit steeper. We examined it for an hour before I came to the conclusion that it was for mountain bikes, some of the jumps were so steep that it threw us off. (I'll try and get some pics). My hobby is my boat, docking @ $400 per annum and @ $100 upkeep (this year more because I need a new canvas top)
