    You mean another apartment?

I suggest you do some researhc or read other posts in this thread...

As I said before, this place is non-smoking.

Still, whatever. Should be banned EVERYWHERE. We get it in our faces in the street ALL the time!

    WHAT DO YOU DO!?!?! :wtf:

Do you understand the dangers of second hand smoking?

Wtf are you talking about? I'm an accountant! :bugeye:

    Shouldn't be though.

Ok. So let's make legal for people to kill each other. What's the difference between that and blowing deadly toxins in your face?

I don't care WHERE people are smoking. SMoking is not only disgusting, but it's killing people out ther that are not even smokers! I don't see how it is ok for people to claim the lives of random people. just because they feel like it!

Everything anyone does affects someone else. Where are you going to draw the line? There has to be a balance between inconvenience and the health of others.

So you are saying that it should be acceptable for people to carry guns and sometimes randomly shoot someone?

Just so it can be said it's been said:

    - As a tobacco smoker, I once again offer a very simple exchange: Legalize marijuana, and you can have the tobacco. The thing is, smoking marijuana is inefficient consumption. The paradox of the black market is that smoking marijuana is the affordable alternative. Think of it this way: Thanksgiving dinner costs $700 before you start buying the food. Since there is such demand for smaller expenditures, marijuana sells for between forty and fifty dollars for one-eighth of an ounce (approximately 3.5g). At this quantity, smoking the stuff is the most popular method of consumption. Bring down the cost for higher quantities and many stoners will eat the stuff instead of smoke it. Everybody wins this way. Smokers are smoking a less-toxic smoke; of the users, many will choose to not smoke the stuff. This results in a better situation for non-users.

And I won't say much about the cars. I laughed when one legislator (either Waxman or Dornan) called cigarettes the number-one source of air pollution in Los Angeles. But, yes, we do need to talk about the real air pollution problems facing everyone at some point.

One last note: In Seattle, the people passed an anti-smoking rule that bars smoking inside businesses and for twenty-five feet outside the door. This is to protect non-smokers from secondhand smoke. The result, of course, is that at night, when many businesses are closed, the smokers get to stand on sidewalks around the nightclubs. During, say, a set break at the Crocodile, for instance, passers-by must run a gauntlet of a hundred smokers lined up along the sidewalk. It wasn't the best rule. (Speak nothing of the notion that acres of outdoor space should be called "indoors" for the purposes of the law. Of course, that's not holding. Oh, right ... speak nothing.)

i have no trouble grasping personal space and public space. i live in london you dont get personal space when in public here, and if you say "well move away then" yes thats the sollution all people have who cant be bothered to make there city a better place to live.

and your speach was all well and good but your are wrong, his apartment is actualy a non smoking building. so he is in the wrong. and are you a smoker? it would explain alot if you are because ofcourse you would take that side.

and fraggle just because your older it doesent mean that your high and mighty. people make mistakes when they are young and you most likely did aswell. and i think calling his family a mistake is very rude. not everybody leads the life of others. so what if he lives in an apartment and has a wife and child. atleast he has a loving family and is a nice guy,

you sound like a real stuck up person at times. with your rants about how the youth are so foolish, and how the young people always make the wrong choices, you are the type of peson who is stuck in your way so much because of age and experience. you cant live in a world where every young person makes no mistakes and leads a model fraggle lifestyle.

    peace.

other less harmfull drugs are illegal, so why should smoking be legal? you cant smoke weed anywhere not even in your own home, so why can you smoke cigs?

because the government make too much money from it, for an advanced society wich tries to increase life spans with medical tech, we sure are not doing a good job of bieng advanced when so many people intake toxic fumes into there bodies by choice.

in the future nobody will smoke, they will look back at all of the chemical smokers and think of them as barbaric stupid people.

    peace.

Oh, yeah, but if people like TruthSeeker get their way, you won't be allowed to smoke it in your own home! Surely you wouldn't agree with such a ban, would you?

You are really really dreaming if you seriously think they will ever ban cigs. Nevermind the big business and old tycoons involved, the governments make shitloads taxing them.

i respect my elders, i respect that they have experienced more than me, but i also know that wisdom is not installed into everyone with age, i know alot of older people who are as stupid as a mule, and so stuck in their racist ways that nothing will change their bigoted point of view.

    peace.
