Post your "Good News" stuff here. Typically, microwaves agitate polar molecules (molecules that have magnetic properties), like water, into very rapid motion. The collisions between these rapidly moving molecules create frictional heat, first within the liquid water, which is then transferred to the entire food or beverage contents. Since polystyrene foam cups or containers themselves do not contain water within their molecular structure, they are "transparent" to the microwaves. The microwaves pass right through, and the container is unaffected. If the container’s temperature changes, it’s only because of the increasing heat of the liquid or solid they contain. The part about foam cups being safe in the microwave is of particular note. I was not certain but thanks to this data I am relatively at ease. I use them for hot cocoa.
foam cups are made of plastic, ANY pLASTIC DECAYS...that means that when exposed to heat that cup emits toxins/carcinogens neverthless

Polystyrene (Styrofoam) contains suspected carcinogens and endocrine disrupting chemicals. Melting point[1]: 240 °C (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polystyrene) This means that at such temperature the styrofoam begins to physically melt before the eyes...the process starts long before that... No go!!! In case you aren't aware of it, 240 degrees C is over TWICE the boiling point of water! And the only possible toxic chemicals listed in your reference said "citation needed" - meaning there was no direct proof they were released as you claim and certainly NOT at such a low temp as 100 degrees C. Care to try again????
look I know it is for sure that toxins are indeed released at such low temperatures as 100C...the companies in US however are hiding this. I only am saying that the plastic melts at 240C...but the toxins are released way before this. NOT when heating a cup of coffee of hot choclate they don't - they can't as long as liquid water is present because it's the WATER that's heated and the cup is only heated by conduction from the water. well go ahead use styrofoams everyday to heat coffee...and see if u have any probs with kidneys and sorts. While I abstain from using a styrofoam...or a microwave for that matter.
dragon he sounds right to me, according to the article thing I quoted styrofoam doesn't get effected by microwaves, therefore it's impossible that toxins are released?! What do you have to rebute this?

Stop it, just stop it!!! If the foam cup is transpearant to the microwaves then what the hell would cause it to migrate into the liquid or whatever else is there? Other than meat with oils and such causing the foam to cook what possible logic is there!
Nope, just more nonsense. And I suppose you mean "break" instead of "brake." The molecules do not break down at such low temperatures. Got any solid information at all or do you want to continue just shotgunning around at wild guesses?
like I said lets make an experiment for life, you eat and drink out of heated styrofoam bottles/cups with water,choc., and coffee. And I will not do that. And than lets see who lives longer. I am 20 now. How old are u?
