I want to blow something up. I have nothing chemical in my house besides common household cleaners and ingredients such as, Lemon juice, NaCl, etc. I do however, have 2L soda bottles. Tell me what to do/mix in order to make this soda bottle explode from impact when I throw it off the balcony.

i could tell you how to make home made napalm, but i dont want any terrorist units comming to my house suspecting me of anything we have issues with bombs in london at the moment,

but if you have a pump and some soda bottles you can make something more fun than exploding soda, look up how to make soda bottle rockets on google, they are way more fun,

seriously they fly like hundreds of feet in the air its quite impressive if you can do it right, just dont aim them at anybody because they can like knock you out,

    peace.

Get some magnesium out of a battery and mix it with 3% hydrogen peroxidein a coke bottle(2 litre). As soon as you mix it, screw the lid on and throw it.

You should just try the ol' mentos and diet coke trick. Or, you could always do the ol' fashion dry ice and h20 in a bottle trick.

morons... who just want to blow things up... should use mass produced, time tested fireworks..... like fire crackers.. and long fuses...

whenever morons try making their own bombs.. and worse.. their own homemade explosives, they are always at odds with killing themselves.

bombs are not hard to make.

playing with them and living is another thing.

I agree with Mosheh, Chemistry is not something to be taken lightly, the power of chemistry are stronger than many think. Messing around with it and not knowing what your doing can cause serious trouble. If you absolutley must do something though. I wont give you a recipie but if you find one MAKE SURE IT DOESN'T PUT OFf POISINOUS GAS! I cannot stress this enough. Beware of things that put off Sulfur, Iodine, chlorine, and other halogen gases. Still though, for the love of god be careful. oh, and that napalm recipie Empty force of Chi was talking about, its not REAL napalm, just sticky fire.

    No one has mentioned this?

Buy a block of dry ice and have a bunch of empty 20 oz bottles on hand. Put some dry ice in a 20 oz bottle (it works better with these then any other bottle because the walls are thicker) and mix pour some water into the bottle. TIGHTLY, and VERY QUICKLY, put the cap on and throw it away from you.

    BOOM.

You can also take an aerosol can and throw it into a fire. BOOM!! Throw in a full one with flammable liquid (like WD40) for an even bigger BOOM.

Pass direct electric voltage through common salt, trust me the entire blow of the salt will fume like shown in movies, exploding on short circuit within a couple of minutes.

it works better if the can is empty or almost empty, because the actual gas content of the can is not explosive just sets on fire,

its the gas vapours that actualy make the explosion, like with a car petrol tank, if it is full to the brim it will not explode just catch fire and keep burning, but an empty tank will blow up,

so yeah full cans wont explode, but empty ones will, as far as i know,

    peace.

Pardon me, EFOC, but I've never found homemade napalm to be explosive, just highly flammable. I imagine you wouldn't be able to get it any more explosive than it's liquid component.

yeah ofcourse napalm is not explosive, it just burns for a long time but it might aid explosives in a certain way,

The home made version of napalm is often implemented with other explosives as a way of transporting the flaming ooze to other parts of an area.
