"The worst shooting rampage in American history." "Massacre and Mourning, 33 die in worst shooting in U.S. History," and "Rampage called worst mass shooting in U.S. history."

"What first appeared to be a single shooting death unfolded into the worst gun massacre in the nation's history." You've seen and heard these headlines and reports all week as the media provided non-stop coverage of the tragic shooting of 33 people at Virginia Tech University on Monday."

The worst in U.S. history." Really? It is certainly the worst shooting on a college campus in modern U.S. history. But if we think it is the worst shooting rampage in U.S. history, then we are a singularly uneducated nation."I can't take one more of these headlines," said Joan Redfern, a member of the Lakota Sioux tribe who lives in Hollister. We met at First Street Coffee to talk while we scanned Internet stories.

"Haven't any of these people ever heard of the Massacre at Sand Creek in Colorado, where Methodist minister Col. Chivington massacred between 200 and 400 Cheyenne and Arapaho Indians, most of them women, children, and elderly men?"

Chivington specifically ordered the killing of children, and when he was asked why, he said, "Kill and scalp all, big and little; nits make lice."

At Wounded Knee Creek in South Dakota, the U.S. 7th Cavalry attacked 350 unarmed Lakota Sioux on December 29, 1890. While engaged in a spiritual practice known as the "Ghost Dance," approximately 90 warriors and 200 women and children were killed.

Although the attack was officially reported as an "unjustifiable massacre" by Field Commander General Nelson A. Miles, 23 soldiers were awarded the Medal of Honor for the slaughter. The unarmed Lakota men fought back with bare hands. The elderly men and women stood and sang their death songs while falling under the hail of bullets. Soldiers stripped the bodies of the dead Lakota, keeping their ceremonial religious clothing as souvenirs.

To say the Virginia shooting is the worst in all of U.S. history is to pour salt on old wounds-it means erasing and forgetting all of our ancestors who were killed in the past," Redfern said.

"The use of hyperbole and lack of historical perspective seems all too ubiquitous in much of the current mainstream media," Redfern said. "My intention is not to downplay the horror of what has happened this week in any way. But we have a 500-year history of mass shootings on American soil, and let's not forget it.

"This is only the most recent mass shooting massacre in a long history of mass shootings in a country engaged in a long love affair with firearms and very little interest in gun control.

Let's not forget our history and the richness of our Native roots. While spending time on the 1.5 million acre Hopi Reservation in Arizona, I met families living in homes they have occupied for over 900 years. On the surface, it looks like a third world country: You will observe many homes without running water, travel unpaved roads, and notice that there are no building codes.

But sitting in a Hopi home being served a delicious lunch cooked by a proud Hopi working mother, I experienced so much more: The continuity of a long and deep heritage, a sense of the sacred, an artistic expertise, and wisdom about many things that remain a mystery to my culture.

Most of all, may we never forget all those innocent civilian men, women, and children who lost their lives simply for being in the wrong place at the wrong time, just as the students happened to be this week in Virginia.

May we always remember the precious humanity of these students, but may we also never forget the humanity of those who lost their lives simply for being born people Native to this country.

We have personally taken indians and made them fall out of favor with mother earth. True they had mere teepees and other huts to launch their massive resistance from but had they not fallen we wouldn't be civilized today, us with our massive skyscrapers, democracy, religious Christianity, it all would be gone.

Melanin is the dark pigmentation of the skin which help humans like black people and brown people survive in the hot sun. Melanin is essential for life , melanin is in your organs , and your brain needs it.

However, unlike black and brown people, you white people's pineal gland is calcified which means you can't even create this Gene,you have melanin but only a small amount of it.

The primary purpose of this gene( Melanin thats in your skin) is to turn U V ray or sun light into vitamin D. The Sun is a primary soruce of vitamin D , and vitamin D is needed for reproducing babys and to keep bones structures strong.


This is the real reason why the birth rate of the white race is soo low, so they have to use genetics to help create babys. there bone are weak. They have the most retarded baby birth rate and other mental and phyisical problems than any other race.

You're an idiot. White skin is an adaptation to northern climate where the sun shines weaker, enabling the (whitish) people that live there to process vitamin D. People with little or no melanin are called albinos. Melanin doesn't turn UV light into vitamin D. Sunlight (for all people) stimulates the liver to produce vitamin D. Melanin in the skin prevents excessive sunlight from damaging the DNA. Excessive melanin can lead to vitamin D deficiency.

As far as the Native American perspective on the school shootings, it's irrelevent. I recall there was a major shooting on an Indian reservation in 2005. I'm sure they didn't make light of it by bringing up Indian massacres in history.

Yes its true , people that has little or no melanin are called albinos , but you must understand that white people are the Descendants of african albinos.

As you can see, these albinos up top have hair color and skin color that like white people.

Some albinos have blue eyes , other have gray or green.

Nonetheless, White skin is not Ideal in nature because there is no logical purpose for it, that includes blond hair ,blue,green,and gray eyes.

Black and brown hair and eyes dominate the recessive gene. In nature there are dominate genes and recessive genes.


On the Discovery Channel a few weeks ago, they showed that a polar bear skin was black not white Also the channel showed eskimos who had light brown skin, and they live in a much colder environment then white people.

So plz explain to me about how white skin is an adaptation to northern climate?

The only thing white skin does is reflect sun light , black skin absorb sun light.

Would it be much better to have brown or black skin in a cold environment? Because when i go out in the could, I have no problem staying out side while my white friends are complaning about how cold it is .

Last year i asked them a question about there body and this is what i said:" Hey Chris , does your body warm up when your kinda cold and when its cold does your body warm up? Because you guys complain about the cold and i have no problem ".Chris said: "Huh no not really when im in the cold i don't feel like im warming up , and when i feel hot , well i just feel hot. why did you ask that!?!?" I said:" Well every time i get cold , i feel this warm feeling going up and down my back , the same thing happends when i get to hot and i feel and this cold feeling does the same thing."


Like i said , white skin ,blond hair , red hair , blue , green ,or gray eyes are not ideal in nature.( they have no purpose.)

White skin is an adaptation to northern climates because melanin is not needed. It takes energy to produce melanin, so if not needed evolution tends to discard it. White people don't need pigment to absorb the sun's rays in winter because if nude you would freeze to death anyway. They wear clothing.

Eskimos have slightly darker skin because that far north the sun's rays are weak, but they get reflected off the snow, making it very bright. Also, they have sun all summer (no nighttime).

Your theory about white people being escaped black albinos is just silly, we are all descendents of Africans.
