Leguin, anything about history. I love action movies... grossly violent action movies. Scifi of all kinds. Hmmm. I remember looking for a forum to answer a question about astronomy (a question that I have yet to ask-- becaues I need to be able to post an image). I joined about a month ago under my usual pseudonym: superstring01, but couldn't get it activated. So, I left and didn't come back until today. Started browsing and noticed a lot of threads to which I wanted to post, so I just decided to submit a new name (the current one) and see if it worked. It did. Here I am. Thanks for the positive reception, BTW. ~String

Hey String. Welcome to SciForums. Don't let some of the locals scare you away, such as the trolls, the racists, and the idiots (but I repeat myself). There are intelligent people here, and it's always good to have another one around, if you think you live up to the standard. Judging by your impeccable writing and your being well read, I think you will. Also, you might want to watch yourself around Genji. Now that you posted a pic of yourself, he will probably find you very stunning and will almost certainly be all over you, especially since (if I read your posts correctly) you admitted you're gay. Naw, I'm only kidding, he's actually (mostly) harmless. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! Are you at all into politics? Do you have any opinions there that you wanna share? I really like your dog. Why is his name Remington?
Please be advised to not feed or pokePlease Register or Log in to view the hidden image!oke: the natives. Please remember to keep all limbs out of reach of the cages housing said natives. They bite. And some will fart in your general direction as an attempt to frighten and/or anger you.:fart: Do not take them seriously. Otherwise... Welcome to sciforums. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! Cute dog by the way. He has a sweet face.
I have a thread called Praise your dog, where you can share stories about Remington. I also had to register 3 times before I got it through. My ISP kept blocking the activation email, so I had to use a yahoo account... You can put Baron Max on Ignore right away, you will save lots of time...
Well, for starters, I have read most of the current threads. Many, many moons ago, I learned to accept those whos oppinions were contrary, extraordinary, or just plain weard. Lord help us if EVERYBODY starts to agree with me. I especially like the annoying, rude, grumpy, oppinionated and otherwise excentric members. Genji and Baron Max are what they are. I've read their posts. How interesting would fora like this place be without them? Generally speaking, I'm pretty passive. My first day on my current job, the first words out of my mouth upon hearing a colorful joke were, "It is impossible to offend me." I had to take another minute or so to explain the total, all encompassing and unswerving deapth of this maxim. I cannot be offended. I do love politics, history, science, philosophy and other sundry concepts. Socio-Political beliefs? Hmmm. I'm an agnostic-- far too open minded to support or deny any religious claim (other than nonsensical claims of hellfire and whatnot). I'm a classic liberal... perhaps closer to a modern libertarian than anything else in existence. I have a habit of voting for Republicans then regreting it later (not because I'm a self hating gay man, but because they [all politicians] are worthless backstabbers [duh]). Just voted for my frist Democrat in ages (Tom Stricklans-- Gov of Ohio). I'm not a neo-con or an ultra-con-- I just don't believe in so much of the nonsense that the Democrats support, that it ends up outweighing the nonsense that the Republicans support... so the end up getting my vote. So, unless Giulianni gets the Republican nod in 08, then I'll end up voting for Hillary. Eeeesh. Where have we come to! Ummm. Remington. Yeah... all my dogs have been named after a fire arm of some sort (Windchester [Chester the golden retreiver], Daisey [the mut], Panzer [English bull terrier-- BRINDLE], Colt [yellow lab], Remington [Remie-- yellow lab]). Also had a cat who was named more intellecutally-- Cicero. ~String
Well, I also had a thread on this problem. Too much agrement makes boring discussions, too much stupidity annoys me.... Most people are unwilling to say they were wrong, and seemingly they are not learning too much either... So that brings us to the ultimate futility of websites like this... Wow... right off the bat with a gay joke, huh. Should I follow that comment with something about the necessity of a good lube? Nah. Nevermind. Damn. Well, you couldn't handle my stick... at any rate. ~String
