A poster on another thread used the term manboy. I don't know what this term means and I'm interested from a social sciences (mainly gender studies/kinship) and linguistics (cross-cultural) viewpoint. I have looked in my dictionaries at home, on Wikipedia, and Chambers Online Dictionary - there were no entries for 'manboy.' I also tried Google but could fine no suitable reference to the term. Can anybody tell me what the term 'manboy' means, please?
None of the above are correct. The term may connote different meanings in different places but for ME Manboy is a 15-20 year old male with boyish good looks but he's more than capable of having sex. He can be a man in bed but is young and boyish, something very appealling to gay men.
Thanks all...found 'Twink' in Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Twink_(gay_slang) so thats a good start point.
A twink would be a male figure skater about 17. Rouge on the cheeks, girly. A manboy would be a buff studly 'Ozzy from Survivor' type. Two different dishes.
Ohhhh God!!! It's OZZY! Yes. He would qualify as a manboy. Masculine with a teen looking body. Purrrfect.
The title alone makes me laugh And Genji's incredible knowledge and insight into it is even funnier. When I hear manboy I instantly think of NAMBLA http://216.220.97.17/
I was quite shocked by it...exploitation of children is one of the few things that make me REALLY F*5@ ing ANGRY
Me too. Wanting sex with a child is sick and destructive. Chowing down on a 17 year old is different. Of course not for myself! I'm too old, but 18 is fine!
I'm happy with my cultural norms - they evolved for a reason...children should never be exploited sexually or any other way...its so so sick.
I do agree, no matter how racy I may seem somtimes. But in many other cultures it is the norm. In Buddhism, Hinduism and Islam girls are married off to old men. 9 year olds and under. In ancient Rome and other civilizations it wasn't an issue. African cultures trade off girls like sheep. Boys are sexualized early. In Western culture though it's wrong. We encourage both sexes to succeed. Where abuse survives is where you'll find women are treated like a commodity.
Totally agree - male dominator culture at its worst...and it is mainly males doing these crimes. There is also a tremendous pressure on kids nowadays to conform...to grow up quickly...what a crazy world this must seem to them. Abuse takes many forms and you're right 'commodity fetishism' regards people as objects and objects as people.
