I guess its only non-Americans who read the BBC news on a regular basis. It was a hot topic during the Lebanon crisis and has cooled down considerably. He does keep shifting the goalposts though and having seen him change his mind about the date before, I would not put it past him to do it again. His party wants him out asap though.
I tend to read, listen to or watch the BBC fairly regularly. Lately I haven't been keeping up with the news as much as usual, but I am surprised this wasn't plastered all over everywhere (I guess I shouldn't be surprised, though).

He went through the usual political process of kissing ass, promising the earth and smiling nicely at lots of people. No he didnt. I was referring to the Heseltine/Thatcher bust up. Heseltine kissed his chances of being Prime Minister goodbye becasue he was seen as the one who knifed her in the back. It's also one of the reasons Gordon Brown hasn't had the balls to challenge Blair outright, even though he's dying to be the next Prime Minister.

There has been some stuff bandied about about the troops being pulled out by that time, yes. Whetehr they are or not depends upon the situation on the ground.
