Are some people different from other people? If there are differences between people, can they be changed so no one's different?
No-one's different. We're all the same. Two* ears, two* eyes, a nose* and a mouth*. So come on, guys. Let's stop all teh hate. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! *Possibly excludes victims of violent assault, disfiguring accidents, genetic deformity, etc.
The hardware.... is all the same. the programming....... varies greatly. the greatest form of programming is religion. recognision of this fact, will allow the world to find peace. by, recognising the possitive value of religions, tempered by the reason of modernn logic and reason, based in the sciences. science is the key to solving for un-educatd fanatisism........ which is a big problem. -MT
People are obviously different, or we wouldn't have any arguments on sciforums, for a start. Why you'd want to make everybody the same puzzles me. Nobody is perfect. Everybody has their own strengths and weaknesses, which can be complemented by the strengths and weaknesses of others.
*sigh* I shouldn't pick on Baron. He's like a big angry teddy bear. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! And as to the thread, yes people are different and no it'd be horrible if we were all the same. So even if all could be changed to be the same, it should never happen. It's our differences that make us interesting. Just imagine living in a world filled with others just like yourself. I know I would not want to live in a world populated by people who were just like me. It'd be the stuff nightmares are made of.Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
Can be, sure ...but it don't seem to happen as often as you seem to think it does, James! Humans have an innate sense of competition, and that more often than not keeps humans from helping each other as you seem to think they should. ...or as most people like to claim! Hell, people like to stand by and watch others fail ...and that can be seen clearly in the news, on tv shows, movies, and out on the streets. We even have popular video games where the object is to make as many people fail (and die) as possible. If everyone who claims such high principles of helping others as they say, then we'd have virtually no poverty, sickness or hunger anywhere in the world. Ahh, but talk is cheap, ain't it? Baron Max
No, all people are different from each other, even clones/twins. No. The differences are set by each individual's history. To change someone to become someone else is a task which is simply impossible in the near and far future. 1. knowledge is lacking. 2. technology is lacking. 3. computing power is lacking.
There is not a person alive or dead that I would want to be the 'same' as. We are all different, thank fuck!
Some people fear difference but that's a matter of how you are raised Things that make us different that people may fear race religion colour diseased disfigurement disability (mental and physical) low intelligence high intelligent pretty ugly fat thin short tall age fashion victims - goth, punk, rocker, hippy, tattoed peirced Big hair no hair beards glasses Hijab diff class diff school outa towny city dweller village dweller foreigner traveller gypsy opposing opinion temperament drug user criminal etc etc etc etc etc etc If you are raised in a multi cultural society with many freedoms, tolerances and all 'people' types are part of that community. You do not fear them. These differences become less apparant, less important. Thus we fear the unknown do you want to be different Roman or the same, if the same, the same as who? Meanwhile people can be easily influenced to think alike and carry similar views. The media does it all the time. They dictate beauty, who is hot and who is not. Their press coverage can determine who gets elected etc etc etc. NOT all pepople are susceptible to this type of influence but many are. There are many more sheep than wolves.
