Although I am basically against the concept of this particular war, blood for oil, it could cost even more American lives if the 30,000 troops waiting on ships off of the Turkish coast are forced to move inland the hard way. Turkey will vote again on Tuesday. This initial denial may only be a way of "saving face" among their neighboring Islamic countries.

That would only convince the Generals to bring in more troops. And bigger bombs. If several thousand US troops were faced with anniliation, tactical nuclear weapons would be used.

The people would have no choice in the matter once the war has begun.

The ideal way out of this situation would be for the Iraqi people to retake their own government.

"i hate death but i WANT every solder that walks across that boarder slaughtered"

I find it humerous you have such a lack of respect for human life. And coming from me, that says a shitload. You think every one of those solidiers believes politically in the war? Or do you think that many of them are in a job where they have a duty. I think it was Adam who once said here that there is no reason to disrespect the solidier, simply the general.

Asguard, calm the hell down. You want all of the American soldiers to die? Fine, then wish it. I hope it comes true so that you can't sleep at night. Your the one marching for peace, but when it comes down to it you want all the soldiers dead? That doesnt make much sense to me.

The USA doesnt have the right to do what it wants. The US has listened to the UN for three months now, and no progress has been made. Saddam decides to comply now, and we all know its a delay tactic, hell, washington analysist saw this coming months before it even happend.

what you dont understand is a guy i was very close to could have been deployed over there right now and i would rather see him dead, a FRIEND, than the alternitive

i dont care that they are american, brits or aussies, they are the invaders

Now, what you don't seem to understand is that i know several, not just one, SEVERAL people that have been deployed to Iraq... Lets think on this more.

    CounslerCoffee is an American.
American forces are being deployed to Iraq.
    CounslerCoffee knows other Americans.

What are the chances that CounslerCoffee knows people who are going to Iraq?

Hmmm. It would seem to me that the chance of CounslerCoffee knowing someone in the army/navy/reserves is good. So hence, the Counsler knows more people who are going to war. Especially since Fort Campbell isnt that far from here.

so again the lives of the westen volentiers who are PAID to take these risks are worth more than the civillans "over there"

im sorry doesnt gell, i have seen the US genrals refuse to be a part of action that the president ordered before

in this choice i dont have ANY problem cheering the other side, that doesnt mean i agree with those ridiculling our solders as the leave, the problem is still the goverment but if thats what it takes then so be it

I think Turkey did not tell the US to stick it. They are saying "Give us more money." It's Negotiation 101. That's why the re-vote on Tuesday; it's the deadline for more money to be offered. I'm estimating a $30 billion package.

    Asguard :

Go be a human shield then... or is it that your own life is exempt from the morals you peremptorily force on everyone else? If you're so concerned about Iraqi civilians, go protect them. I can't help but think of the potential advantages to the gene pool.

Thank you Marquis. Asguard, if your so worried about lives, then go over to Iraq and help guard a civillian. But wait! It was just on the news today that some of the human shields are leaving because they feel they are in danger! From american bombings? No. From the Iraqi army? Yes.

Asguard, I don't know what your talking about because your sentences are all fragments, and your spelling right now, is horrible.
