View Full Version : free trade with america
vslayer 02-17-05, 03:04 AM well it appears the yanks are trying to get a free trade agreement with us, what makes them think that anyone wants them or their products here, i for one plan to protest non-stop if this gets any credibility here.
the nerve of them to think that we want to be branded collaborators to their terrorist regime.

i know i sound like i am just ranting, so close this if i am, but this really pisses me off and i had to say something about it
Michael 02-17-05, 08:28 AM Why?
You needn't buy any Amercian products. But what of your compatriots? Wouldn't they? And why shouldn't they? It's their life and their money - so why shouldn't they be able to buy cheap amercia made shet if they want to?
does amercia still make stuff?
Oh yeah, crap movies - so you get cheaper features :)
Odin'Izm 02-17-05, 01:28 PM i once saw a stress ball on sale in chicago with the words... "Proudly Made in America" on the case... made me laugh about the state of america's industry... if a balloon full of sand increases their pride....
TruthSeeker 02-17-05, 05:06 PM ROFL!!! You crack me up!! :D:D:D
be careful of trade.
trade leads to other nations gaining control of domestic policy through the forces of harmonisation.
TruthSeeker 02-17-05, 06:16 PM Yes, the effects of globalization.....
Here's some statistics about them:

What computer are you accessing the forums on, and using what OS?
Brian Foley 02-17-05, 11:41 PM well it appears the yanks are trying to get a free trade agreement with us,
Actually it is the other way around Australia and New Zealand are trying their best to get free trade deals with America . That explains why Australia is asskissing the US by going into this right up to their necks with this war on terror . Ill guarantee it if their was any hope of a freetrade deal for New Zealand they would be the most eager cheerleader for America . My advice to the American public would be to shun any Australian and New Zealand freetrade deal as the motives are purely mercenary .
vslayer 02-18-05, 04:30 AM esp,
its parts are asian, and my illegal copy of winXP is costing them millions to try and prevent
Brian,
the gain for us would be minimal if any, even if american products were cheaper, no-one is going to give up boycotting them. and is that few dollars a year we will save worth being branded a terrorist state like america?

I dont think you understand what Australia and New Zealand want , it is the old Freetrade Colonial setup we had with Britain . In those days prior to Britain joining the EU all of Britains manufactured goods came here and in return all our agricultural products went to the British market for consumption . So if Aust/NZ can replicate that freetrade system we had with Imperial Britain it would benefit us greatly by giving our manufacturesrs an assured market to sell our goods . My advice to Americans is to tell Australia and New Zealand to go take a flying fuck , which in a sense America is doing by deliberately dragging its feet over negotiations .
even if american products were cheaper, no-one is going to give up boycotting them. and is that few dollars a year we will save worth being branded a terrorist state like america?
American products here have never been cheaper and no one outside of the Mideast is boycotting US goods .
justiceusa 02-18-05, 07:37 PM What American products are we talking about?? Most of the consumer goods sold in America are made in China or South East Asia. The label may say "General Electric" or "Fruit of the loom" , but the products are not made in the USA.
rustyindustry 02-18-05, 08:16 PM Thats for sure Justice:
If anyone wants American products, trade with China is their best bet.
Asguard 02-18-05, 10:26 PM Brian Foley:
the free trade agreement which we DID get fucked us again. It was one sided where we remove tarifs but they wont. They wanted to screw with things like the PBS when they were putting more tarrifs onto the steel industry there
i dont know WHY NZ would want in on something like this, its just howard wants to get bush into bed
Brian Foley 02-18-05, 11:15 PM the free trade agreement which we DID get fucked us again.
Or in other words America made it so that we would have to either drop the negotiations or if we accept it it wouldnt advantage Australia .
It was one sided where we remove tarifs but they wont. They wanted to screw with things like the PBS when they were putting more tarrifs onto the steel industry there
America has 3 separate freetrade deals with Israel , Jordan and Singapore . With the large Zionist lobby in America that expalins why Israel has one . Jordan because that nation holds some 3 million Palestinian refugees and is vital that Jordan co-opearte for that Zionist shithole to exist . Singapores freetrade deal derives from strategic concerns because that is where the US Navy is now based since vacating Subic Bay in the Philipines . Australia and New Zealand would like Israel be simply parasites on the American working people and it is there where I come down firmly on the side of America here .
i dont know WHY NZ would want in on something like this, its just howard wants to get bush into bed
Australia and New Zealand are both gutless and are too frightened to stand on our own two feet ! Explains why we are both still not republics and why ANZACS still fight other nations wars .
vslayer 02-19-05, 04:29 AM what have we to gain from becoming republics? all it would do is cost money
Odin'Izm 02-20-05, 06:03 AM It gives you the proud status of being a FREE nation.. now you can make your very own sand filled baloons.. and call them stress balls.... !!!! whoa!
Asguard 02-20-05, 04:37 PM vslayer. I dissagree with you there mate. I WANT australia to be a republic and i hated the way john howards underhanded technics undermined that effort

From the article:
NAM selected countries which import more than US$1 billion ($1.41 billion) of US manufactured goods annually and applied other criteria such as the extent of non tariff barriers and the quality of judicial systems.
Others singled out include India, Egypt, Malaysia and South Korea.
Are they kidding?
India, Egypt, etc. have high quality judicial systems and lack of trade barriers? Not the last time I checked. :bugeye:

Tradition. We are pretty much an independent country. The Queen's representative is pretty much a figure head.
It is a good way of keeping good relations with Britain.
And why is angry about a free trade agreement? Isn't it a good think that we won't have to pay tariff on imports/exports?
Odin'Izm 02-23-05, 02:21 PM it goes agains the american dream of being able to own weapons thats what.
