tell us the men/women of war who inspire you, or you take most liking to from any era of time and why, i have so many and wont name them all right away with a huge list, so here is just a sample few.

the samurai, for there unique and interesting bushido code of honour, and the fighting style and weapons they use with great skil.

the ninja, for there lack of honor, ruthlesness and moto of, "anything to get the job done is cool with me". the secretive code of silence and training in the shadows is cool too.

the roman empire, for there great victorys over so many foes, and commanding such a huge empire, plus you have to love running water and aquaducts.

the old english knights and longbowmen. the longbow is such a beast of a weapon and hard to use to full effect. and the knights are funny the way they would not listen to command, and charge down enemies at will thinking they are invincible,

ahh so many to choose from. the mongolians for there hatrid of walls, and ghengis khan the boy who nearly took over the world, and populated it along the way.

The U.S. Navy SEALs are among my favorite. Before watching BUD/S Class 234, I didn't really know what kind of training they went through and hence, I did not appreciate their existance.

I prefer machines. Machines like ICBM's and SU-37.

ahh i was starting to think it was a painting or a poster type thing,

when will we realise that the anime shows got it right, walkers and robot suits with jetpacks are the way forward, the ground capability better than a tank or car that can move over obsticles, get into places easy, and the arial capability of a helicopter or plane,

plus they look 10x better, infact put me down for a couple to wage war in..

Arent they well known for shooting themselves in the back?

never heard of that. They are good at shooting silent bullets in Chechen rebels and those lawless spiritless beings hiding in England

FSB shoots in the back, front, top (preferrably :p ). He doesn't get shot.
I'm glad you like the style. Its best not to use all precious energy on one opponent/dirt object.

All around kickass. They moved with the times - highly adaptable and capable in any fight on any terrain. Plus they had the best fight songs. Anyone with military experience knows that last one goes a long way.

The Mongols of Genghis Khan nobody but nobody kicked so much ass so fast. Thier organization and tactics were far beyond anything anybody else in the world used at the time.

My favorite warriors had to have been the Housecarls -- especially due to those huge axes those guys carried in to combat.

Nobody likes the french foreign legion? Anyway The british Royal Air Force was kinda nice during WWII.
Annyway samurai where bastards that kept killing unarmed korean peasens most of the time.
Paratroopers usually do sneaky hit and run attacks So even in war they do it when your not expencting it in the famous words of war is not dying for your country it's making the bloke on the outer side dying for his. It's not really fair play.
Mongols had no other purpose then killing a couple of lads proberly out of frustration of being acociated with down syndrome.
And if dragon means spetsnaz with the russians FSB (that BTW putin is a member of) then I'm not going to even start on the acount of having killed to many of it's own civilians.

... Wen where the times when amazones fought topless to distract the oponent. Wars during the times of the greeks where proberly commendable:)

my uncle loves telling me war stories and other interesting things, but one thing he told me will always stick in my mind because i found it funny.

he has many conflicts and missions under his belt he has braved the worst of the worst, been in near death scenarios countless times, but the thing that put him out of service was when he was doing a routine practice jump from a plane, and he landed on a friendly tank and broke his legs,

ahh i laughed so hard. he is a bodygaurd now for some german rich guy, and he once got paid with a solid gold rolex that is worth a serious amount of cash, and he lost it, what an idiot,
