i have to say this is a good site,it shows real stuff in real life that is nasty, and makes you see some nasty truths about mortality and how stuff is fucked up. What i find refreshing about it is it makes you feel ill, this is a good thing, but in no way should these pictures not be seen, the "not in my backyard" attitude has to stop, censorship is bad news. Depends,do you like to live in blissful ignorence or do you wanna see the real deal around things. People go and see horror films and violence in general, then when they are faced with the real shit they feel sick and wanna pretend thats not how things are, that the horror in movies only happens in movies. The truth is reality is worse, and no image on this site will make you think any different. You may already know about this site as it has gained some popularity,if you havent though be prepaired for some of the worst real images you are ever likely to see.
I've visited this site a couple (of dozen) of times and It's a kewl site, but I don't think you should encourage people to visit it. I don't think anybody will have to look at a ripped body anytime in their lives... My parents and none of my relatives and friends' relatives and friends have ever seen a dead body before. Well, except my friends grandfather who was the guy in the morgue who makes autopsies. The pictures won't really encourage anybody. I don't want to know how I would look if a helicopter blade went through my head. I look at the pics because it's something you don't see everyday and honestly, I find some of them too sick to look at (I don't like closeups of eyes and eye traumas). But you have a point. People should prepare for the worst. Only they should do it gradually coz those pics can get someone with a weak heart into deep depression.
My brother showed me [Rotten-dot-com] before. There are some disturbing photos, but it's not all morbid. There are some funny pictures too and some Adult-oriented stuff, but yeah, the suicide-death- stuff is quite stomach-churning. It does give you a realistic look at death that you normally don't think about (or avoid).
I have a weak heart, so I tried only to open those that had funny explanation hoping they will be a joke. The first and last picture I opened was for the blow up accident in the weight lifting arena........Oh my god......I think I'll hurl again....oh my god.....look quickly at kids pictures for relief.
doom, I'm not going to hurl on my kids pictures, just trying to get the daunting horrible mental image of a hemmoroidged 500 pounds man away by looking at my babies instead.
Some hoaxes have been thrown in for good measure but a good 90% of it is genuine, you can generally tell the difference between real and fake. The main reason rotten continues to run is cos many of the images are sent in by proffesionals for the site, this includes police, reporters, morticians, leaked army photos and so on,photos are taken and they get out, they generally now leave explanations on many of the photos. Its not illegal, however the familys of victims can force images to be removed, corporate logos might have to be legally removed aswell
