Thing

A thing is another word for an object - such as a cup, or a watch, or my perception of you. Philosophers and other Purveyors of Lies will probably try to convince you that things are illusory; mere constructs that allow us to make sense of the natural environment. This interpretation utterly fails to explain how I've never been late for an appointment yet. Idiots.

Thing was also the name of the disembodied hand that lived in the box on the Adams Family.
