Sputnik was a member of Sciforums from 10-11-06 to 09-21-09 , when he defected to Denmark.
The satellite Sputnik was successfully launched into space by the Soviet Union on October 4, 1957, and burned up on it´s reentry into the earths atmosphere on january 4.th 1958.
In the russian language Sputnik means : travelcompanion/ travelmate/ travelpal.
