Shuriken

The shuriken (sometimes called ninja star) is a small star shaped weapon, typically intended to make the user look really cool prior to being hurled at an opponent.
The weapon is usually 3 to 4 inches in diameter, made from some type of metal, and has a hole in the center to improve the user's grip. Designers of these weapons also go through great lengths to make them look as intimidating as possible by decorating them with clever taunts written in artsy Japanese calligraphy.
Footnote: Shuriken have always been the primary weapon of Ninja warriors.
It should also be noted that shuriken have have been used quite effectively for thousands of years due to their 100% accuracy, long range, and guaranteed lethality.
The lethality is in serious doubt by pirates since millions of geeky ninja wannabes have bought shurikens over the internet, and none were killed by their own incompetence. Pirates claim that a train is more lethal than a shuriken......so is a high apartment building. Pirates are typically known for knowing the truth about killing people for fun and professionally.
