Mod hat is a term added to the universal dictionary of the worldwide forums by tiassa ^{[citation needed]}.

Addition of the term to a post, in a nonneutral color [red, blue and green being popular choices], is an indication that you're about to get a nasty verbal whipping. If the mod is tiassa, the verbal whipping will be precise, each whiplash clearly delineated and accurately posited.

Reactions run the gamut from indifference to hissy fits, with occasional bouts of shrieking insanity ^{[citation needed]}. This can lead to further appearances of the Mod hat with the bouts of insanity being shared by the moderators ^{[citation needed]}.
