Radio

in radio there are 2 types of carrier. CW or continuous wave and suppressed carrier. CW is what is known as AM or standard radio. it's also used in FM. FM stereo makes used of both types. the stereo signal being multiplexed onto the CW signal as a suppressed carrier.
