Aqua is the technical name for water, the most important substance to humans in the known universe.

Dihydrogen monoxide is a more technical name for water.

Aqua vita, meanwhile - or water of life - is the traditional toast of piss-drinkers everywhere.[1] Not to be confused with Aqua Regia, which is bad for you.

Uisge is an even better name for water, because it sounds like whisky. This means that when you're caught drinking whisky in the office, you can defend yourself by claiming that you'd actually asked for a bottle of Uisge, and was wondering why it tasted funny.
