The Americas comprise the continents of North and South America, occatianally Central America (purely conceptional), is used to discribe the latin countries in between North and South America.

North America

Main article: North America

This continent only has three main countries, the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

South America

Main article: South America

This continent has many countries, including Brazil and Chile.

  • "America" is sometimes used as a synonym for the United States of America, and residents of that nation are often referred to as "Americans", rather than the more accurate but rather more long-winded "United Statesians" or "United State-oids"
