Affirming the consequent

Affirming the consequent is a logical fallacy, which covers all arguments of the form:

1. If A, then B.
2. B is true.
3. Therefore A must be true.

Examples

1. If something is an elephant, it must have a tail.
2. All mice have tails.
3. Therefore, all mice are elephants.
