one of a pair of railway cannons that shelled anzio. the other gun was known as robert and together they were called anzio annie. they had a barrel length of 21.3 metres (70 feet) and could fire a 1/4 ton shell 38 miles.

at the end of the war robert and leopold was blown up by the germans but leopold survived. leopold was captured and moved to aberdeen proving grounds in maryland where he was restored to full combat status. there he remains and can be seen by the public.
