Giraffe

The Giraffe is a strange creature that hardly fitted in Noah's ark because it is so tall. Its legs are tall and its neck is even taller.

Some people claim that the neck of the giraffe is actually rather shorter than in other species. You can see why when a giraffe drinks. It has to spread its legs before its head can reach ground level. This would indicate that its neck is too short compared to its too long legs!

The long neck is useful for reaching the higher leaves on tall trees, as well as being able to see far and wide.

Unlike other animals, which evolved through natural selection, gifaffes evolved through Lamarckism.
