Tooth

A tooth is a highly mineralized organ anchored in the jaw and partly protruding from it. Teeth are used for mastification, grabbing prey, holding on, filtering, display, and fighting. Tooth development is a highly organized process characterized by reciprocal interactions between epithelium and mesenchyme.
