The koala is one of the unique marsupial treasures/pests of the Australian continent.

Sometimes it is incorrectly referred to as the "koala bear", perhaps because of a superficial resemblance to a teddy bear. The koala makes up for its failure to actually be a bear by being generally bad-tempered, sleeping a lot and urinating on visiting Americans who imagine that it is just like a cuddly toy.

The Koala is prone to extinction because it is a specialist and will eat only eucalyptus leaves. And then only some of them. Also, it urinates on visiting Americans, which is not recommended for anyone.
