Is there anyone here who can give me advice on the edcuation system for this failing country we like to call england? i have applied for a inter school transfer for my child and the addmissions department have told me that they can and most likely will refuse the move, now there are places in the school that i want my child to go to, and by law they have to give it to my child, and the school want him there, but the edcuation department is just full of shit and are most likely going to refuse the move, now the reasons i want the move are: 1, difficult to get my son to school because of his medical problems, 2, difficult for me because of my illness 3, and the intense bullieing that my son is getting, for example, he was hit with somthing just last week at dinner time, so he went to the dinner supervisor and showed her the brusie on his arm from this other boy and she told my son "dont be silly Michael, you did that yesterday, in the play yard" now he didnt go to school the day before, so how could it have happened the day before? he came home from school yesterday, and his legs are now covered in bruises, and i dont know what to do now, the school are deniying it ALL, and just say he is hitting himself, ok i know my son has problems but he is NO SELF HARMER. He is now refusing to go school, but by law they can take me to court and fine me up to £1000 but why should i send him to a school that does nothing about the bullieing? can anyone give me advice on this? Hi LA, this is not a great situation. what year of school is your son in (what age is he) I got bullied for like a few weeks when i was like 13 yrs old, and then never again....my plan may work for your son depending on his age... ~~~~~~~ cheers zak
I don’t know if you can transfer so late into the academic year. Is that the reason? Is that what they are telling you? With colleges and universities late September and October are the latest you can transfer or change your course, it might be the same with schools. You’ll find some really nice/helpful people working at schools. It would appear that you have been speaking to the wrong people. Speak to different people at the school e.g. your son’s teacher, the head of year, headteacher, deputy head etc. If you’re getting nowhere with one person, try someone else. You will find someone that is willing to help. Regarding the bullying, ask your son who is bullying him. Get the names of pupils and then speak to someone at the school. And it’s the same thing again, try to speak to someone that takes it seriously. Finally, speak to your local councillor, go to your local council and get some proper advice. And tell them how Mr/Mrs X at the school were useless and unhelpful.
Aww that sucks and you shouldn't be stressing out in your condition. I bet they could move your son, but some of the people that work in admission are heartless bastards and are reluctant to do anything that will increase their workload. I was going to say try to get some advice from your LEA, but if it has gone so far that you have got lawyer, you've probably gone down all the routes (that i know of) You could keep at it and pestering to the point those idiots do the right thing. And don't you have an older silbling or cousin to verbally threaten these little f*ucks, ???
LA I am very sorry to hear this. Schools in Canada have a zero tolerance stance on all types bullying. Bullying is a human rights violation. It is not tolerated period! Schools in the UK and elsewhere should get their acts together. That is pathetic! Get yourself a lawyer and demand your rights. Someone has to help you and your son. I know this is tough especially when you are so ill.
you can transfer late into the year, and the other school actually wants him there, i have just been told that his current school wants to see me with they're legal team, and i am not allowed any legal representation, that alone doesnt seem fair to me
Ok.... are there any older children who live down your street who go to the same school??? What he needs to do is get in with the guys in the top year of the unfant/junior school. I used to go to boarding school and when i started at the main school (i was 13) we used to get kicked around by the 5th formers, but then we got in with the guys in the lower 6th cos we were in to the same sort of music... Once the fifth formers saw these guys with me they never messed again... My sixth fomr mate even told one of them on the day he left, that if he even got a report from me that he was even looking in my direction he will be down on the first train to sort him out.... it might work, but first you got to suss out how the guys odler than you click!!!
In the title you say UK, now you're saying england. Make your mind up. In this day and age with the nanny state I very much doubt a school would have the balls to say something like that. You should threaten to take it to the local paper.
sorry england i was stressed to the max, and i still am over it all. and they did say that ok, and i have threatened to ake it to the local paper, and they told me to do what i felt like doing (like i will anyway) obviously you have no idea or very little idea how schools are run, and who they are run by!
So take it to the local paper. As soon as the moron local population see the word bullying they will be all over the school like foreign blood on an american's hands.
well today i had a call from the school, the legal team., the education wefare officer and everyone else aswell and they have now said that they will NOT be blocking the school transfer, (after i threatened to take it to the papers, which i am still going to do) the school nurseing team have decided that i am a royal pain in the ass hole! and just want to get shot of me. I am going to make sure that the people of Blackpool who want to send they're child/ren to my sons current school know what theyare letting themselves in for, it is a real bad school, and all they are interested in is the kids that dont need the little extra help.
