I don't think western movies have a chance to make a come back beacuse you got all these morden day movies with hot women in bikini,violence,sex and all that crap. heh i may never know there can be western fans on sciforums :D

Many of those movies are fantasy. You missed quite a few actual Sci-fi movies though: Bladerunner, Minority Report, 2001: A Space Odyssey, KPAX, the Matrix, and more. I think you should call that a Fantasy list.

Great fan of westerns, the proper ones, not the moronic whit picket fence, clean, sanitised rubbish of the 40s and 50s.
For me sergo Leone was the Daddy, the master of this genre, Once upon a time in the west is probably the best western ever made. Clint tried with Unforgiven, but I think most studios wouldn't risk investing in a western now a days. This is because firstly there aren't great rugged leading men anymore, and the plethora of cheesy westerns through the years has sort of soiled the image of this genre of film. However, having said that I wouldn't completely dismiss the western making a comback.
