computer slow down help!

    i just reformated computer and it was running decent. I downloaded a few movies and install a couple of games. I play counterstike , usually get a ping of around 80, but now its around 3k. I try warcraft: ft, and it lags so bad. How do i make it run faster because dsl people arent suppose to lag more to 56kers in games

    theres so many programs running when i pressed ctrl+alt+delete, this could be the problem. how do i know what to take out
