View Full Version : can u answer this
gopakumar 10-06-05, 10:45 AM One day a friend of mine asked ( originally asked by a psychartist):
Two girls and their mother lived in a city. One day their mother died of some disease, and the funeral the elder of the sisters saw a handsome young man and had wanted to marry him. As it was her mothers funeral she didnt tell him about but she couldnt discover anything about him when she searched for him. Later she killed her sister.
Can anyone tell me why she killed her sister?
According to ur answer I can judge what kind of a man are u(according to the psychartist).
kenworth 10-06-05, 10:48 AM her sister approached him at the funeral?
although my actual answer would be, because she was mentally unstable.
Communist Hamster 10-06-05, 10:51 AM Her sister had married the man (first thing that came to mind, judge me on this one)
OR
The man had killed her mother
OR
Her sister had killed the man
OR
Her mother faked her own death and had a sex change, and she was the man.
So she could meet the man again.
dr. cello 10-06-05, 11:31 AM because of a contrived sociological hypothetical situation meant to prove that people who have heard this one before have the mind of a murderer.
c20H25N3o 10-06-05, 11:43 AM I dont know. The fact that she killed her sister may be completely unrelated to the other set of circumstances.

dr. cello 10-06-05, 11:48 AM the 'correct' answer is 'she wanted to see the man again.' answering thus supposedly means you have the mind of a serial killer or something. congratulations.

The sister was involved with the man.
Blandnuts 10-06-05, 06:11 PM Tell your psych he needs more then some silly story to judge one's "self." Hell, there's too many variables. Like what kind of jelly made the sister mad enough to kill her sister (strawberry I hope)? I personally would keep using peanut butter till my sister went to the store.
Quantum Quack 10-06-05, 07:43 PM The psychiatrist if he is really smart will say that to attempt to rationalise insanity is in itself an insane thing to do.
It is the rational [noun]of something that cannot be rationalised that is insane.
any way...my thoughts
So she could meet the man again.
this is the "answer." this question came up here before.
Onefinity 10-07-05, 12:53 AM She killed her sister so that her sister would not have to go through the pain of another relative (her older sister) dying.
Can anyone tell me why she killed her sister?
So that she see the man again when he attended the sister's funeral.
Yes, I know what this is supposed to mean. And I read the other posts too. I have heard it before, and immidiately gave this answer. I don't think I have the mind of a serial killer. And neither does anyone who knows me think so. different people think differently. Maybe there is another class of people to whom this is applicable. I suspect it has something to do with visual thinking.

Perhaps a response like this one is a projection of a dim view of human nature.
malkavpunk 10-07-05, 11:28 AM definately because the sister became involved with the man, and the elder sister was crazy. had to have been.
There's no right answer. It's not a puzzle for all you cerebral fucks to work through, jacking off thinking about intelligent quotients.
Prince_James 10-08-05, 08:56 PM Fapfapfap
one_raven 10-08-05, 09:26 PM At least a dozen different people have told me this and stated that it is a question asked by psychiatrists, yet I have never heard psychiatrist ask it.
It seemed VERY unlikely that ANY professional psychiatrists or psychologists would EVER ask such a question to determine anyone's state of mental health.
Even Freud would scoff at the idea that one could determine someone's level of social adjustment, psychopathic tendencies or moral yardstick by their simple answer to such an absurd contrived circumstance.
Hmmm....
So I decided to check Snopes...
Just as I thought.
Not true

Try and be just a little more discerning about what you pass off as a true story.
sparkle 10-08-05, 09:56 PM Someone asked my that question a few years ago. My answer was: the man was a doctor and told the sister that her other sister had terminal cancer. So in order to spare her long suffering, she killed her sister.
I was told that was not really the expected answer :D
sparkle
she killed her sister so she could see the man at the funeral again.

the most logic answer to this is >> she fell in love with her brother! she didn't know she had one. she killed her younger sister out of revenge, because the younger sister killed her mother. it was/is a war between families and she is/was saving her name and love. is she the last of her family? get her out of there please!
She killed her sister to meet a young man again - he is a priest.
Mosheh Thezion 12-15-05, 01:24 AM She killed her sister because she was disturbed...... and unstable..
and had many an influence in life which allowed her on that day to deside to kill.
the fault lies in the hand of humanity in general.. for allowing the negative influences that allowed a woman to even consider killing her sister...
to determine whether it had anything to do with the mothers death, or the man she wanted to marry requires more information.
