can access mails not chat msgr

ok now this is realy annoying guys. i was into yahoo chat room ansd chatting when suddenly messages stopped comin on the main. at that time i was talking with a guy on instant message as well and there i was able to commnicate. so i thought all i had to do was to log back in and things would be fine. but no. as i try to log back i get invalied password error. i tried to check my mail and mail i checked succesfuly. i tried to log into yahoo chat again but i still could not get in. i tried changing my password from mail but even then i was unable to chat into messenger.
so i tried changing the yahoo id and i could log into the messenger as well as a room. but shorlty i get on screen saying u have been logged off. log in again.
when i tried to change room chat room list didnt show. i tried relogging but i get the same invalid password eroor.
this happend with many more ids. i logeed into a room and then i get logged off message and then no chat though mail works. after this the messenger simply throws n invalied password error. i also tried to log in through yahelite but even that could not connect. yahelite simply fails to connect irespective of id i use. though it worked fine previously. same goes for trillian when i try to log in using my previous ids. it generates an unknown error.
i dont know what to do and what the problem is. any body knowin kindly tell me a way out of this. i cant make use of most of my existing ids for chats. nor can i log into a room coz i know its going to log me off and the that id would be of no more use atleast as far as chats are concerned.
could the problem be with my comp or could it be somethin else? and know i havent tried logging in from any other pc though i think i ll try it out soon.

It may be too simple but, have you tried to clear IE/Mozilla (cache, history and cookies) and reboot your PC?
One more question : do you do it at home or at work? Because your webmaster could have deny the chat sessions on its firewall...

still the same bug

well, SG-N i tried doing that again. i did that last night and tried it out again just now. but again the same things happening. the ids which i used to enter the rooms are throwing the invalid password error. 1 which i created and logged in with, not into chat rooms but just the messenger i was able to log back with. but the 1 which i entered a room with i m not able to log in with. and i m working from home. and there were no changes in any settings. it was working and suddenly the truble started. let me say here that i had got the you have been logged off error on the main a few days back as well. but it didnt lead to anything and i think all i had to do was either change the room or relog in and i conveniently forgot it.

windows xp

i m using windows xp. but i dare say that wont matter. coz i tried it out at a cyber and even from there i am able to access mail but not chat. i could also sign into games. but i couldnt log in 2 chat with either web messenger or java or yahoo messenger. really dont know what the bug is. coz i m simply not able 2 enter chat rooms coz i know i ll get logged off n the id is wasted as far as chat is concerned. and coz i mainly chat thru main its really annoyin not 2 b able 2 use it.
ne1 knowin a workaround or atleast the prob kindly tell me.

Something similar happens to me except on AIM. When I have friends and girls inviting me to a chat or something for some reason on my screename it is always denied by some unknown error. It says cannot revieve enough information or wahtever, everything else works except well the chat option.

 

Windows XP has a native FW that could have change its settings (Hey, it's Microsoft. Who know which bugs they hide...), but as you were not able to chat from a cyber neither, there's only one possibility : you're really unlucky and you only use computers with problems. What else...? A trick...? You have been baned from every chatroom...?

. a day back i cleared the web objects that get downloaded, cleared the cookies and cache and everything, and it seemed to work. and i was about to post my 'solution' for silmilar users but i waited to see how long the joy would last. i was then again able to use all my ids but yesterday when i logged into a room with an id i was able to but again after some time i got a message displaying i had been logged off and now again i am not able to access messenger with that id though mail works fine. so this effectively means that i cant be in a chat room for more than a few minutes and after that i can say bye to chatting with that id. this thing is really wierd. any1 with ideas???????????
and now at times i get the message that 'cant connect, you maybe behind a firewall'. i change the option to 'firewall and no proxy' and it connects and i switch back to 'no firewall' and after some attempts it connects!!!!!!!!!!
whats going on i can make neither head nor tail. i guess theres some problem with cookies and i dont know how to sort this out. can it be due to third party software used to login???? though none were running the time this problem started. any1 knowing and ready to contribute?????????

 

Just uninstall the program and re-install if all else fails and you desperately need it system restore it to a date in which it was working.

However you not being able to log on another computer suggests it has something to do with your ID? try creating another one and tell us how it works out.

cant figure nothing

ok again, slow and easy. i was not able to access from the cyber the account which had seemingly gone wrong. and evern from there i was not able to access only the messenger, the mail was working fine. but this thing is not about 1 id. whichever id i create and if i log into a room with it from my HOME, i get logged off. and then i cant access the messenger with that id from ANYWHERE though the mail is accessible. this is what i had expressed in the intial posts. however since then it happened that i deleted the cookies, the cache, the downloaded web objects and evrything i felt could be a cause and safe to delete without lynching my system.
and maybe it was a coincidence or whatever but i was then able to access the messenger even with those ids with which i earlier couldnt.
but no sooner did i enter a chat room yesterday with 1 of those ids, i again got the 'u have been logged off, login again error'. sure enough when i tried to login i got the password error. and since then i have been unable to access messenger with that id though i can access the mails.
also it happens with trillian that at times i can connect and at others i cant.
yahelite simply fails to connect and i think throws the invalid network socket error.
and yahoo messenger itself at times gives a behind the firewall message and at others allows to connect.
so as it stands i create a new id, log with it into a room, but i then get logged off and also am then unable to access messenger with it.
if i create a new id and DONT log into room, it seems to work fine.
this is really strange and i dont think i have ever heard of anything like this.
any1 with ideas???????

looks like any1 in here hasnt got any more ideas. well i was able to log into a room through java in netscape. but even through that after some time i got logged off. when i tried again with the same id after clearing cache and all it crashed netscape throwing a visual c++ error and saying that the application requested the program to be terminated in an unusual way. i tried through ychat and got the message that the connection was forcefully rejected, whatever that meant. so i just cant stay in rooms for more than a few minutes and then i simply cant access chat, though i dont know how it worked out that 1 isolated time. alhamdu'lillah.
i was able to get the information that for some reason yahoo has been on a id banning spree. but they always get the wrong people. also theres been a lot of u have been logged of coz u already logged in elsewhere error. and yahoo has nothing to offer except excuses and accuses. but what's strange is that this is happening with all the ids i create.
by the way i tried installing and uninstalling three different versions of yahoo messenger, and also trillian, yahelite and ychat. but all of them have atleast some error or the other ranging from cookies to network sockets. probably theres a fault either with cookies or with my network or both. because i also got the dumb u r behind a firewall excuse. and yeah writing to yahoo got me the response 'v have reason to believe u violated the rules' and also a thanks for using their service. customer support.
anyways, thanx for trying guys
