I beleive , unless he is a sock ofcourse that this thread he started was overly controversial to "announce" his arrival on the forum. If the guy can get 4-5 pages of thread posted in 1 or 2 hours whats wrong with that.

but we were all willing to respond to his thread, 4-5 pages in an hour or so is not bad, so we cant blame cactus if we dont go anywhere. if posters think like you as above then why do they bother responding to his thread in the first place.

You're making a heck of a lot of noise over a TEMPORARY ban, do you think it should of been permanent?

One thing you should note is he had 14 points worth of infractions before I banned him and those points weren't put there by me. If I'd given him 6 more points he would of had a temporary ban anyway, so nothing changed.

As a moderator, the position is meant to try and moderate against particular post types and persons. I know we have a lot of freedom allowed here at sciforums however there are the few poster/post types that standout and need to be dealt with immediately. If they aren't dealt with, it can cause others to think that sciforums is a soft-target for their racist activism.

Some would find it completely distasteful of the individual to deny certain occurances of the second world war considering that it wasn't something that was a story handed down generation by generation, but something survived by many people. This wasn't just about Jewish people being killed by Nazi's, but the people that lost their lives both defending and trying to retake countries and of course the people of Japan hit by the atomic bombs.

As again mentioned the reason that people are asked to remember such things is just to try and make sure such mistakes never happen again. There are those few however that just don't want to learn from those mistakes, so are doomed to repeat them.

Anyhow, you should find Cactusneedles posting soon, should they of course stick around.
