    Hello

    for mp3 nerd out there.
I have some odd mp3s here. They have varying bps during the play (like 192 after 160 after 320). Why is it?
    Just askin.

Because they aren't mp3s, they use different compression format like mpc or somesuch.

And the bitrate differs because you don't need as many bits to code less complex sounds like silence or a single tone etc. It's all done to (possibly) compress the song even more while maintaining optimal audio quality.

BPS or, Buried Penis Syndrome, is a medical condition
caused by the removal of too much skin during a circumcision.
Doesn't apply here, but I am a fount of often-worthless info
that I like to spew out if given half an opportunity to do so.

In MP3's however, BPS is the acronym for "Bits Per Second"
and indicats the transfer rate used to create the MP3 file.
Generally, the higher the number, the better the quality.

    :m: Peace.
