Have there been any books or articles written about the effects of different temperatures on psychological dispositions? Or the possible effects of long-term exposure to extreme temperatures. Or anything related to temperature and psychology.

There have been many studies (and books) about exactly what you're seeking. I'd suggest going to the library and doing some research ...you'll probably be overwhelmed by the volume of work.
