many people who post here want avatars but cannot make the image they want small enough, so all you have to do is find an image that you want save it then upload it on to this website http://www.shrinkpictures.com/create-avatar/ then put 40x40 into the image size. right click on the image of the centre crop, save as, then upload that onto the avatar and bingo

I would like to have avatars that are a bit larger. I understand the bandwidth issue, but I think we could afford to have the maximum dimensions increased just a bit. A new maximum of 60x60 is preferred, but 50x50 is acceptable.

Alternatively, perhaps we can change how the maximums work so that you can have an avatar larger than 40x40 if it's smaller than 19.5KB (as it is, you can't). For example, my avatar is only slightly under 1.5KB. I could easily make this same avatar 60x60 while still keeping the size incredibly small.

If I had to pay or donate for a larger avatar, I would. Just so you know...

Let's make the avatars smaller even. Nothing stimulates the creative mind more than restriction.

Easy Gif animator.

It does a great job of reducing any gif down with great scale.

My avatar.. I found it almost 3 or even 4 times this size... and it wasn't square at all.

I rock.

If you have Photoshop with ImageReady you should be set.

What's the best way to get your Avatars to show movement to make them more animated?

JUST SAVE IT AS A BITMAP...

IN THE TOP BAR... there is 'image' function...

select stretch/ skew....

and shrink it from 100%.. to some smaller %.. both horizontal and verticle...

and it will be a smaller bit map...

1) It doesn't work with animated gifs
2) The resizing function sucks. It gets very pixelated.

That.

Well that is what I used to resize it. I found this gif at 60x120 or so somewhere online.

As far as making the gif? I suppose the guy that made it took frames from the movie (Office Space), converted them to gif and put them all in order.

I think it's about 10 frames or so.

if its a gif.... you will need to take it apart... and resize each image.

and probubly make a new gif... no big deal.. there is alot of free software online for making gifs... from bitmaps.
