You misunderstand. Atheism simply means no belief in god(s).

yea but dosent god mean that you have do somthing to get into his heavean so if you don't belvive in god there is no chanlenge in youre life to get into that kindom so if there is no chalenge they have no reason for living?

Seems to me the challenge is to give your own life meaning via it's "content" - ie - what you make of it.

Life in and of itself contains no inherent meaning. It merely happens.

Was that: "No i'm not because you guys seem to get such a kick out of it. I would hate to dissapoint you guys." ?
You see, you are not trying to achieve things in life (such as better spelling skills) so you must not believe in God.

1. You sound drunk. Drink some eggs.

2. Atheists don't necessarily believe in nothing. They just do not believe in a god.

3. Though I am an atheist, I do believe in some thing(s): humanism, the belief in the inherent dignity and worth of all people; naturalism, the belief than everything can be explained through natural phenomena, without the necessity of the supernatural; and eclectic neopaganism, the combination of more than one set of neopagan ethics and beliefs- although I don't believe in their deities, I do believe in the moral and ethical messages Celtic and Norse myths.

Assuming that the atheist in question does not beleive in an afterlife (some might, some might not, you cannot make a generalization) since if they did, your post would be flawed already:
One could say that the atheist would actualy strive to acheive more than our theist, because this life is all they have. Think of a nickle in a pocket:
A millionair would barely notice it; he could loose it and not even realise he did. A homeless beggar would keep absolute track of it, he would quikly realise if it were missing. If you have less, you cherish what you have even more. Simple as that.
