What if you wanted to be neither male nor female?

Yeah, this is a serious question.

Like transsexuals, but instead of wanting to be the other sex, you wanted to be neither, or some degree in between (androgyne)?

How would you do it? I seem to remember you need one set of sex hormones or the other for health.

Would equal doses of estrogen and testosterone do it?

is this what you would like to do, or are you just asking in general?

And it's not a hypothetical question. There are hermaphrodites. There are many people who are asexual and behave in ways that make it hard to determine their genders.

If you end up spending time in gay, lesbian, bi circles you will, sooner or later, meet people who really are neither or are both.

Both men and women have 'the other sexes sex hormones'.

Physically, I have no idea how you would do that, without being born that way. Socially, it'd be an uphill battle, but if you surround yourself with people who support you then I guess just tell them what pronoun to refer to you as if any. Then behave and dress however you'd see fit for you. That's a tough one.

I don't think I "want" to be one sex or the other. It's just an artifact of the physical world we are bound to.
I think we are without gender in the afterlife.

So yeah, I'm with Draqon. Don't think about it.

Eventually, we all get old and for all practical puposes gender becomes a small part of who we are anyway.

There are asexuals, but they are more people who aren't interested in having sex.

You can always become a furry or an infantile. Those are some respectable subcultures to consider.

my gf knows a guy who cross dresses and is just odd in general, who refuses to pick a gender or title such as mr. because he doesn't want to labelled as man or woman. it shouldn't matter whether he's man or woman though, he's a person and is entitled to the same rights as anyone, i guess gender's a crutch society uses to set norms and create stability.

Yeah- it's a pointless discussion that will be buried in 72 hours.

Partly I was just curious, and partly because I've always liked the idea of being an androgyne, though I forced myself to suppress it for years, wanting to be more "normal".

Meaning that you will have sex with both genders while exhibiting no gender? Or total genderless asexuality?

    No.

I'm attracted to men. Very categorically.

But I don't fully identify as a female.

I range from "Low Female" to "Pure Androgyne, Neither Gender".

Why is this about me, anyway?

You just haven't found the right person as yet that will make you feel like a female.
