I'm just guessing here, Lucy, but I think the 911 system has more than one incoming phone line. Just a guess, mind you. And interestingly, didn't I read last year about a little kid who called 911 "Just to talk", he was lonely. ....and in the conversation, the 911 operator figured out that the little kid wanted to talk because his Mom wouldn't talk to him. Wouldn't talk 'cause she was lying on the floor and dead as a doornail ...murdered by the little kid's father! Baron Max
I was just poking fun at the idea of a 911 telephone operator taking the time to actually help the kid without giving him the answers. My favorite part was when he automatically asked the kid where he lived as if it were somehow pertinent to 15 take away 8.
