*** This is something I wrote down as a stream-of-consciousness while trying to read 'The Elegant Universe." I'm without a computer since my laptop broke, so I spend my time reading, writing, and watching TV. I also play on XBox Live.*** You cannot incessantly talk about what you don't know (only) in terms of what you already know. To do so is to have a closed mind. Escape the security of the known, delve into the unknown, and realize that experience is all and infinitely more than what you know and could ever know. You are in the moment and forever will only be in the moment. You are the moment. The moment is all. To close your mind, to explain everything in terms of memories of past experience, and to forever look forward to some "promised" or "hoped for" future is to forever close your mind off to the moment and to never arrive nor be satisfied.

I'm not giving advice, just stating an observation. And, I from this I don't understand how I can give an example. It's like giving you a pencil and afterward asking for an example of one.
I think I understand him. His thought was that if you try to understand something new in terms of what you already know, you limit yourself, and you don't fully open to learning new things. It's like looking at a cat and describing it only in terms of what a dog is like. Am I right, Absane?

I'm sensing a little hostility from you since my post on pigs (the Tarot cards clued me in Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!) And no, I don't think Absane is suggesting we shouldn't listen to anyone else...only that we can't let other people hold us back...not in the past especially, and they can't force us forward into a future that is unknown. if we stay in the moment, we live life to it's fullest. This is what I 'get' and feel and truly believe and agree with.
