If you are familiar with the anchoring effect you will know it has an effect on relationships as well. Each man tends to go after a certain 'type' - is this just anchoring effect or something deeper or does it go away after casual sex ?
At least from the female perspective, it goes way beyond the physical aspect. I've had a friend glistening over seeing a stranger in a bus reading the same book she read, or someone deciding that a person is perfect for them because they have dimples. There are too many examples to list.
I covered anchoring this semester, on slightly different grounds; however, the first sentence rings very true to the OP . :bravo: The anchoring effect isn't necessarily physical .. its more psychological, it has to do with the way our consciousness works. Before man had any realistic abstract thoughts, he could rely on anchoring to help make good decisions. Nowadays its something that can interfere with, or at least influence the way we make decisions. When a man always goes for a certain 'type' , is this considered anchoring?
