Upon moderate doses of :m:, I have come to a realization that I must ask a question to the SciForum community that I have been pondering for quite some time.

I am trying to figure out a medical career that will help me to complete my lifelong goal of preventing death from occuring (and possibly minimizing the effects of aging). As you can see, i've got a lot of work ahead of me in this battle against time.

I am a first year University student and am taking pre-med courses, as I presume medical school will be an adequate choice for a field of study that would have innovations so spectacular that death can soon be avoided.

Anyways, I need to know which medical career I should partake to avoid death.

    Thanks in advance.

    Avoid death?
Never happen, it comes to us all, regardless of job.

    Prevent death?
I'd say that biology rather than a medical career would be more in line with that (unless you just mean in individual cases).

    I mean in individual cases.

    VERY individual cases.

for example should I go neurosurgery to attack the CPU of our bodies?
or cardiology to figure out how to prolong the heart?

    or some shit i dunno

Your best bet would be to look at death statistics to why most deaths happen: and then go into that field.

Genetics. If their is a way to cheat death you'll find it in (our) genes.

Well I do neurosurgery and Computer sciences that way you could help develop a way to download a persons Brain/consciousness to a PC that way the memories and experiences would remain intact for later transfer to a cloned genetically engineered body younger copy of the dieing persons body. That would be about the only way you could cheat death.

ok,i'v been thinking of many ways to be immortal, but that doesnt matter.
What i was failing to see as the OP is that the best way to 'cheat' death is becoming Rich, yes Rich.
Cause if Ur Rich(multimillionaire) u can access things most can't and 'buy' immortality in whatever form that may be.
Just get rich and u'll have more than one or two way to live forever, not only that but u'll leave a very comfy life.
Money is the solution, and let other find the ways
