There should have been a user's manual.

You are born you live you do some shit in the middle and then you die and rot into nothingness but a distant memory.

    • Work hard.
    • Deliver on promises.
    • Be good to others, the planet & yourself.
    • Remember the past, but don't be a slave to it.
    • Live debt free.
    • Depend only on yourself but learning to trust others.
    • Learn to let go. Everything is temporary; everything will return to stardust.
    • Sex, the human body and intimacy are good things, are not dirty, are there for us to enjoy.
    • Take vacations.
    • Find others to help & teach. After a point in life, it is possibly the only way you will continue to grow and learn.
    • Share your experiences, mistakes, successes, wisdom & knowledge freely.
    • Never fear charging for your labors, but always donate it to friends and family.
    • Embrace the future, for whatever it is. You cannot change it.
    • Be a liberal, in the classic sense. Pursue science, education, advancement, evolution, equality, learning, philosophy and change.
    • Be spontaneous in giving. Surprise the hell out of others from time to time with your generosity. (I recently found out how much joy a person can get by donating three [not brand-new-ish] laptops to those in need of internet access; it made my entire week).
    • You are imperfect. You WILL make insanely huge mistakes. Learn to let them go. Wallowing in guilt is selfish and wasteful.
    • Become an anthropologist. Before making a judgment call, try to imagine why and how.
    • Don't make excuses. Don't accept them in others. Everybody is responsible for their own actions. Even children.
    • Own a pet.
    • Pick a sport or physical activity and do it regularly.

Those are mine; taken directly from notes scribbled in various journals.

If it's worth doing it's probably worth overdoing.
