Why would the devil appear as a faun or satyr? Christians took the pagan God and turned it into something evil so as to convert people and instill fear of Pagan practices and beliefs.

The devil doesn't exist and will never appear on earth. Evil on the other hand is every where.

I would have to go with not appearing on Earth as "The Devil" is lumped inwith "The God" not real never was never will be.

Well if he did appear I would want to know where he had been all my life. I would cry 'lord lord why have you forsaken me!'. For your information the devil DID appear and his name was 'Satyr'. Unfortunately they banned him and life has never been the same.

i dont think someone who doesnt believe in the devil can use the term evil. i can get into the concept of it from an artistic standpoint but can we attribute evil to merely a brain defect?

    That's absurd.
    Why not?

I think it is evil to purposefully inflict suffering on the innocent.
I don't believe in the silly notion of "The Devil", but I do know that people do purposefully inflict suffering on the innocent.

    I wouldn't.
Why would that be the only option other than "The Devil"?

The Biblical one of course. What's the point in being the devil if you're wimpy? He is a deity after all and he's got to be powerful to rule over all of his demons and the unruly souls in hell. He should be powerful enough to appear in any shape he deems fit for the occasion.

    one raven,

the term evil is derived from devil.

some people have different personalities. some are more compassionate and show empathy sooner and some are less inclined to. this can be a factor of how they were raised and things they experienced as children.

at one time i believed in evil but now i think it is attributed to a defect in the brain. i realized this while watching documentaries on people who in some instances and even by a majority would be considered evil but then as i was watching them, more and more i came to the realization that something just isnt working right in their brain.

the difference is when criminality enters the picture and that sets it apart from someone just having issues. so i listened to what they say during interviews and you pick up certain commonalities.

i am not a psychologist or a brain surgeon so it is just an opinion.

    No it isn't.
You just pulled that out of your ass.
    Lying is evil.

    Did you look it up?
They don't even have the same root words - Hell, they don't even come from the same language!

Do you acknowledge there is a difference between an evil act and an evil person?
Do you think good people could be driven to evil acts?
