If you go into a shop and flick through the pages of 'Science Illustrated', you'll be amazed just like I was. By far the best mag of its kind imo. How do you rate it?

I'd put ScienceIllustrated as similar to Discover, but the writing alongside the full colour graphics and illustrations is full of sage-like wisdom and highly inspirational in my book. Hope you like it.

Not familiar with Science Illustrated: Hence, I did not vote.

I subscribe to Scientific American & think I have read every issue wince about 1940 (My father had a subscription).

I buy the NY Times every Tuesday due to its science section.

I just sent in for a subscription to Science News, which I used to read.

I occasionally read Discover, but do not consider it completely reliable.

I deny anyone not to find an inspirational article out of the 20-30 gems of up-to-date information. Absolute nuggets that make any of them worthy of the asking price of the magazine. Half if you subscribe. I'm writing in to ask:

So you're going to assume that
    A) matter does have a fractal spiral geometry and that
    B) everyone else also believes this.
    Good "thinking".

Just that there's no good reason why it shouldn't have a fractal nature and pattern to it.

Nature and Discovery magazines beat Science Illustrated in my opinion...

    "How do you rate it?"

Nice pictures. I haven't experienced the magazine physically, but the website puts me off, because it doesn't seem eager to show us what the magazine is like, for those of us not discovering Science Illustrated on a magazine stand. If a magazine is that shy about the internet, I question their motivations about promoting scientific or artistic work.

What is the educating/tittilation ratio of the print version? I can't tell from the website, because they seem afraid of the internet. If there is editorial content, I see no examples.

Or Science Illustrated may be what I might have titled Arts of Science. I am interested in such a series (fascinating pictures, a periodical science art gallery, with brief captions and no editorial) especially if motivated by a celebration of wow, and openly expressive of that emotion powering the core of science. I'm all for that. But that's not quite what they seem to be selling to those of us discovering them on the internet.

Here's what I get from the Science Illustrated website:
To me, that registers high on the bullshit meter. It causes me to hope they have lots of nice pictures, and that the best they've got all winds up on the internet in higher than print definition soon, and that brilliant photography will always continue to inspire us. But I'll look for the hard copy, and see if I've got this all wrong because of their web marketing system.

I reckon you got it wrong. The webpage is unusual and very contemporary but the magazine articles aren't short on first class science interest or professionalism of reporting imo.

I'll get a copy and have a look. Sounds promising. Goes to show I shouldn't judge a book by its website (sorry).

The magazine is about a standard price in the UK £3.95. Half price for subscriptions.
