I'm not sure if you guys know Peter Schiff? He is an investor and economist. He called the economic collapse a year or so before it happened. (I am sure others did too but he continued to get ridiculed on show after show as he sent out the warning). He was an economic adviser to Ron Paul's 2008 presidential campaign.
So, now he wants to run for the Republican nomination in Connecticut as a Senator.
He says he's pro-fiscal responsibility.
Cut the borrowing. Paying the debt. Tightening the belt. Starting manufacturing in the USA again (I think .. at least making something here other than debt).
What do you guys think?
Would you (or will you) vote for him?

I'd vote for him, he'll never get elected though. I've read his books. His father is a "woo-woo." I don't like that term, you guys would consider him a woo-woo as well. And in fact, it's disgraceful that he needs to run as a republican. He's against what they are mostly for these days, but the two parties have colluded to keep everybody out unless they run in one of those two parties.
His father knows that the income tax amendment is illegal, has studied it, published work on it, and is in/went to prison for refusing to go along with it. (He found out it didn't go through all the steps to necessary to become a constitutional amendment.) Likewise, his son, although he "pays taxes" is just as hell bent on dissolving the Federal Reserve Racket that is destroying the country.
But then. . . you probably already knew that, it's why you asked, eh?

Peter's work is like one man trying to hold back a tidal wave of economic insanity.

i would call it idocy actually. Look at a physical example, you know that a tidel wave will hit melb (city of choice) at 10:00am on xx date. You tell everyone tidel wave will hit and some belive you, some dont. However you yourself continue to live in your shack on the beach.
Thats not "bad luck", thats idocy

You're probably right, but we shouldn't pay more taxes than we need to for the basics.
I shouldn't pay taxes that go to NASA, the military, the Iraq war, etc
Roads? Maybe
Police and courts? Sure
Schools I do not use? Nope

I know, I used irony.
He thought diversifying in foreign markets will save him and the whole world went down.
He should have just shorted the index..

I don't mind paying tax IF I feel it's fair. Right now I feel a lot of people weasel out of their share and I end up paying more. I hate these "tricks" like it a game.
Anyway Peter's a woo woo? What's that?
