I dont know why, but this picture makes me feel strange...
Maybe its because it looks like "The Eye" from Lord of the Rings.:)

Oh I'm familiar with solar activity. I've enjoyed images of prominences and their associated 'spots' for years.

That might as well be modern abstract art, which is what prompted me to ask.
