Answer: Kim Jong il has cancer, he is going to die soon (I hope there is a hell for him), he might have weeks or months left but he or the senior members of his dynasty (lets call it what it is ok) are trying to cement his youngest son for the "throne", All the sabor rattling is for show so that rattliest members of the dynasties ministry keep their seats and that they can get the USA to come and negotiate a peace treaty with the new leader.

If the illness thing is true, Kim Jong Il has nothing to lose now. "We" should be very, very careful of what "we" say or do. He could push a few buttons and turn Seoul, Korea into a smoking hole in the ground ...and there's nothing that anyone could do to him for it. He could laugh openly at the world as Seoul burns ....and there's nothing that anyone could do about it.

I really don't think he going to do that, I think he cares more about keeping his dynasty in power. If he wanted to do that he would have already, another reason for all the sabor rattling is that they fell they are going to be very vulnerable during the transition to a new leader (maybe even a fight over the throne) and showing they are dangerous is to keep from being fucked with while they shed their skin.

Starting with pulling out all U.S service people from S Korea. I think they deserve to live and not get used as a bargaining chip...how about you?

Fuck South Korea. Let China deal with it, it's their problem.

I don't know, Nietz, when you promise something, is it that easy for you to just pull out of the "friendship" and say "Fuck it"? The US as well as the UN made committments to the South Korean people that we'd protect them from assault by the North. How can we back out of that without becoming a ....a what ...to the rest of the world?

Here's a man who has watched his people suffer and starve for over 50 years and never did one single thing to help them ....and in fact, did lots of things to make it even worse for them. And yet you think he's a nice enough guy to not want to cause any problems for his people later after his death?? Who is this guy you're talkin' about???

The USA military does not want a peace treaty with North Korea. We need NK. That way we can justify keeping bases next to China.

I agree that the military doesn't want peace with NK, but what about all those mamby-pamby, doo-gooder, liberals in congress???

He cares nothing for the peasant citizens that he starves and sends to death camps, but for the party upper echelon and his kids he cares, a very Dorian behavior but very predictable, besides the upper echelon care about living long and in power (fuck the people) too, and they hold perhaps more power then Kim at this point.
